Who's going to Waikiki and what are the pre-show party plans
We (4 of us) fly into Honolulu early on the day of the show and would like to know who from this board will be at this show and what the pre-show party plans are (tailgating?, bars? drinking in the park with a bottle wrpped in a brown paper bag?).

Party Places
From what I have been told there will be people meeting at Duke's. This was posted on a board that I read. If there are any other places I would like to know or if people are meeting early. Our party gets in at noon on the day of the concert so we will be coming straight from the car rental pagoda. Feel free to email me if you know of any places or have any questions. - M

The Whaleshark here again. Last JB show on Oahu... No tailgating. We tried but "got hasseled by the man". Slightly possible if you're sneaky. I agree that Dukes would be your spot. Jimmy has showed up there before for impromptu performances. If you're flying to the Maui show, there's a pre-party scheduled in Lahaina with the Shanty Man Trevor Jones followed by yours truly for the grand finale. Lots more details here www.thewhaleshark.com Email me with any questions thewhaleshark@yahoo.com Aloha! Erik

Pre-Party
O.K. so no tailgating, hows about we all meet at Duke's the day of the Concert and kind of walk (bar hop) down Wakikii beach to the Shell?
Is it to far do do that? Please post a reply if that works for everyone (gotta get primed for the concert)
You can't miss us - we will be the ones wearing Hawaii shirts

Duke's pre party
ALOHA everyone (I have to practice)
Well it sounds like Duke's will be the place. (we have a party)
We're thinking of aiming for between 3 or 4 p.m. (cause your going to want to get to the Shell a little ahead of time just in case you mght want to buy....I don't know, a T-shirt, shark hat or something?
The weather forecast for Calgary (where we live) is 6 inches of Snow this weekend followed by the temperature dropping during the week to -20C (with a windchill)
We are really really looking forward meeting all you Jimmy phans in Hawaii and best all.....SEEING JIMMY!!

Tips for PH's in Waikiki....
If you start at Duke's -- you can walk to the Shell. It's about 1/2 mile to the East -- toward Diamond Head. If you're stumbling -- you may want to get a cab. Reservations are recommended at Duke's -- a very popular place to watch the sunset.
There's also a relatively new "Tiki" bar at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel --
Tiki’s Grill & Bar: Located at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, Tiki’s Grill & Bar gives guests a fun dining option in an unforgettable setting. The retro South Pacific-style restaurant offers casual yet sophisticated fare featuring the flavors of the islands presented by Executive Chef Fred DeAngelo, a leading chef of Hawaiian Islands Cuisine. Overlooking the action on Waikiki Beach, the restaurant brings to mind the tiki bars from the 1950s and 1960s with palm wood flooring, fishnets hanging from the ceiling, lava rock walls and a 30-foot night-lit volcano above the bar.
They are between Duke's and the Shell.
If you're really adventurous and do it on it another night --
Try La Mariana Yacht Club -- off of Sand Island Access Road. Sand Island Access is near the HNL airport. Off of Nimitz Avenue. If you are going EWA (west) toward the airport -- turn left on Sand Island Access Road. Look for the sign -- a side street for La Mariana -- on the water of Keehi Lagoon.
A true Tiki Bar -- in the style of the dearly departed Tahitian Lanai.
