i'm sorry, rip on me if you want but i don't think any of this is a good thing.the album, sports illustrated, the duets, possible stadium tour, etc.i may be in the majority here, and jimmy is for the most part never wrong in any of his endeavors and thats great for him. but for this fan things seem like there taking a turn for the worse.

I hope he eventually plays a stadium tour! I myself hate the lawn. Too many kids starting fights from my expierence and way too drunk! I will never sit on the lawn again! If anyone ever wants to trade lawn for seats let me know!

I am with you on the one. I hate the lawn. Last concert at Irvine I made a bathroom run at the break. Well this real drunk guy "fell" and knocked me down, layed on me, and then proceeded to try and feel me up. No one helped me up they just kept walking by. It sucked. Its great if you get so drunk that you dont know where you are, but I am ready for some seats!

Sorry, Philly...don't know what venues u frequent, but I have never seen a fight at Shoreline, Irvine, or Chula Vista....and the lawns are great at all of them. Worst seats I ever had were at Chula Vista, cause they were actual seats...I'd trade them for the lawn any day. People do not ask you to sit down on the lawn, and as I am a smoker (please don't let this evolve...I am considerate) I can have a smoke while listening to Bubba!
P.S. I am not one those drunken kids that were fighting! Okay, okay...I was not one of those kids that were fighting! 8) :pirate:

w12s!!! :o

Personally, I like what Jimmy is doing. He deserves all the recognition. I dont want it to be harder to get tickets, and I dont want the title of Parrothead to become less important to the world. However, in 36 years, I think Jimmy is to the point, where he can do what he wants. I cant wait phor the new CD, and I guess all the duets are in fact, just letting some Parrotheads play along. I know Kenny is, Alan is, and I suspect Toby Keith to be parrotheads. Im VERY excited to hear it, from what Ive already heard, its GREAT!!! :P :D

And a stadium tour has its ups and downs. More seats, cheaper and easier tickets, and it would be phun Im sure. True, it would mean less of the feel of a concert, and a LOT less partying, and possibly (PLEASE NO) less tailgating. However, I will go for anything, as long as Jimmy comes back to Columbus. :D :D :D :D :D

Sorry if I offended anyone. I dont think I said anything, but I wanna be sure. :D :D :D

I like both titles! Heck, I’ll buy it no matter what he names it! The guest artists excite me also, as I have heard a lot from most of them and enjoyed their works. :D

No, I don’t think he is cashing in on 5’Clock Somewhere. 8)

This is the second time Jimmy has had this many guest artists on an album, correct? (The first being Hot Water.)

I just happened to hear from a friend's second cousin's math teacher, the title of three of the tracks from License to Chill.

Brass Parrot
You Gotta Fight, for Your Right, to Tailgate
No Sleep Till Key West
I for one, welcome any album with lyrics like that :)

I agree! LMAO @ NYC!!!

One thing though Matt... a stadium tour may provide more tickets, but they will never be less expensive! Plus, we live in the midwest where it's not hard to get tickets at the amphitheaters... don't hope for something that's gonna take all the shows indoors! :o :P (which won't happen anyway, so I'm not worried)

Yeah. I can see Jimmy and Kenny on the checkerboards, Peyton trying to sing and Kid Rock showing up with Uncle Kracker. ;)

It would be a hella show, but do you really think KPD could handle 110k parrotheads?

I think alot of you are taking this way too seriously. I love country music and jimmy buffett and I think the two will go together great! So what if he tours with alan, kenny or george, those guys are great too. You're getting 2 for the price of 1. As far as the name of the album, so what! The name don't mean the album will s***, personally I like the 70's and early 80's stuff, the stuff in the 90's I didn't like, but I didn't throw a fit over it, Jimmy can do whatever he wants to, I say go for it Jimmy and don't let any naysayers tell you different.

I certainly agree with you that Jimmy can do whatever he wants, and I certainly think a debate over whether he's selling out is a little silly (every artist "sells out" when they sign a record contract and if not then, probably when the coconut telegraph became a merch catalog...) but I think there's room for a discussion on whether or not this is one of Jimmy's better efforts or not.

I've been told the record is really strong, so I'm hoping that the tune Licence to Chill is an anomoly, not the norm.

Not that its bad per se, but I think the song is weak all the way around.
