2004 Ticket Demand Post - SI Release

Post by tryin' to reason »

Gotta be an issue -

Sounds like a number of us are concerned about the impact of 6 million
DVD's of JB (and some other guy!) being distributed in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated this Spring.

I have to believe that a certain percentage of those folks will be curious enough about the Parrothead concert lifestyle to bid for tickets. That could have a MAJOR impact on ticket availability and price. If you think that Ticketbas***d was tough last year, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

Sadly, I'm not sure there's much we can do about it. Gotta wonder if JB cares where the money comes from...

Not sure if it will impact stuff at all - tickets sell out in less than 15 minutes - new 'curious' fans wouldn't really know that and probably wouldn't be prepared for the sale.
Is it day?

Hopefully, but I suspect they already use TM for their country concerts, so they know the drill. Also, I'm more concerned about the after-market. Most of us never get TM tix, so we have to resort to other channels. Increased demand = increased prices!!

We'll see, but I sure disagree that there will be no impact.

Oh dear. I guess I'd better start saving. I thought it would be bad after Jimmy's/Alan's song and award, but NOW with this SI thing....*sigh* :( I can see the money falling outa my pocket now...... Image
