Thanks to Burny Charles for posting that link. Reading the lyrics, I was sure it would sound just like 5 O'clock, but it doesn't, after all. It is kind of bland, tho', and the lyrics seem a bit mumbled. I know Jimmy & Mac can do better than that, and hope to hear more new material soon.

I first heard the song/video at the short break in Vegas. I immediately liked it...and I believe I predicted to Andrew that it would be Jimmy's 2nd #1 Country hit within two weeks of release
I really liked the song Jimmy closed Anaheim with too...and at either Vegas or Anaheim (tequila clouded memory)!~ What day is it now??

Your welcome

I'm glad you got it. Geocities lets one person download it then the site shuts down for an hour because of too much data transfer.

I dont have anwhere else to store it.

Before we pass all this judgement, lest we forget his other not so wonderful previous albums. Hot Water, Off to see the lizard, etc. As much as we hate to admit it, ALL of his music doesn't grow on us. There's plenty of songs I pass over on my cd player to get to my favorites, and I'm sure all of you do the same thing. Let's face it, this MAY just be one of those not so great albums(it's been a while since he had one) that doesn't get as much playtime as others. We need to at least wait till it comes out, listen to it ALL a couple of times and THEN form our opinion. Have any of you ever thought about what Jimmy thinks??? Does he really need the recognition?? He may be just doing this for fun. Imagine how the artists who are performing with Jimmy feel. It is THEIR privilege to be playing with the Great One, not the other way around. Personally, I feel that at this point in his life Jimmy can do anything he wants and if he wants to do an album with a handful of country stars, let him do it. Don't you think he's earned it????? He's only been pleasing us for thirty-something years. I'll still go and see him in concert. I won't let one bad album ruin the way I feel about him. I'll still do my best to live the lifestyle. I will still pop A1A in the cd player when I feel like escaping. I only hope the rest of you feel the same way I do instead of passing judgement so quickly. Now........let the replies begin...........

For all the negative critics: Have you ever tried to write as many songs as Mac has, or put out as many really good songs as Jimmy has? It's not as easy as you may think. Give them a chance, get the new record and listen to it as many times as it takes, then if you don't like it put on one that you do like. Jimmy is very busy with touring, sailing, flying, fishing, let along that he has a family. He is an awesome storyteller, writer so give him a break and be happy that he motivates you to escape once in awhile!!

I haven't said much in this thread but here is how I feel. NO artist is going to do everything YOU like they are going to do what THEY like. Some of them get lucky and get rich and famous and some never do. The beauty of the artist is this. their ability to create or recreate and have people that admire them. Myself, I like what Jimmy does for the most part. I will buy the album, I will gripe about him using Ticketbastard, I will get irritated when it gets harder and harder to get ticktets but I will find a way to get them and I will go see him. I like Jimmy's sense of humor in his songs and admire his ability to attract talented people to surround him to give him the lifestyle he wants to live. For me I will choose pieces of that music to continue to put my mind in a place that is far from here and on some gorgeous beach. It will also inspire me to plan better vacations until I can retire in St. Somewhere. Thank you Jimmy!

When the video played in Anaheim...It said Jimmy and Mac plus a couple of others. It went by too fast to catch them all
Not a sellout???

How can anyone say JB hasn't sold out?? He is more CEO than singer....why do you think Fingers and Mac left?? Mac came back, but Its no secret that JB's focus is more about the $ than the music. Its a sad truth and reflected in his recent musical and literary offerings.

kinda agree with the CEO title. Sometimes I feel he milks the whole parrothead/margaritaville thing to queeze every dime out.......but, who can blame him, we all keep purchasing. I'm goin need to listen to this album before I buy it that much I know.

I don't blame him either...he is laughing all the way to the bank....the fans of the Old JB are the only ones suffering. Artists write about what they know....Jimmy no longer knows the keys lifestyle that gave rise to his best music. Now he owns Krispy Kream franchises and overseas a multi-million dollar corporation called "Margaritaville." A pirate looks @ 50 was one of the most pretentious books I've ever read....and all this talk of a country album may prove to be a little misleading. When I think "country" I think Jerry Jeff Walker and that sound. This album is likely to be closer to new country...which in my mind is pop music. Only time will tell.

im going to get serious for a moment here...
a lot of pholks are saying "should jimmy do what he wants?" and the answer is HELL NO. we are the ones that bought jimmys planes, boats, cars, and everything else he owns. if he doesnt please us, than he is broke. you have to remember that jimmy is a business man. entrepreneurs have one goal in mind: to make money.
so of course jimmy would release a country album immediatly after he has this huge country hit. its gauranteed income from a new flock of people. jimmy has said himself that he has weathered 3 failed attempts at a country career. maybe he should take the hint: country is not for you!!
about going back to his roots, i feel jimmy should go back to his roots (if he wants to). but i think his roots are the roots of his success; old school beach music, like son of a son, havana daydreamin' etc etc.

Is it me or does it seem like the people who hate this "new" jimmy are newbies to the site, and people who just hate country
I'd like to see a geographic break down of people who like the song and those who hate it, I'd guess people who live in bigger cities where there are few country radio stations are the ones who dont like it, and those that do live in areas where country radio is easily available.
