Attended last night's concert -- what a blast!! To correct a misconception -- Don Ho did not "open" for Jimmy -- Don Ho introduced Jimmy.

Jimmy did bring out a couple of Hawaii artists for songs. 92 year old keyboardist Martin Denny came out an played a song -- Denny pioneered Tropical Exotica music in the 50's. Guitarist Henry Kapono also joined Jimmy on Volcano and Have to get back to the Islands, which Jimmy said would be on the next CD.

Great concert, in spite of the rain showers and winds.

And surprisingly, HPD and the concert folks were laid back. No problem with cameras at the concert and folks were actually tailgating in Kapiolani park without much hassle. The only hassle was the time it took to get into the lawn area of the Waikiki shell -- the doors opened at 6:00 and the concert started at 7:10 or so and some folks were still outside trying to get in.

Otherwise a great concert.

Those of us who live in the Islands, wish he'd come out here more often but when he does, it's greatly appreciated.

Me too and ironically enough, when I was checking AllMusicGuide.com to confirm the proper title of the song it had a list of similar albums to Leon's Will O' The Wisp and guess what was listed? That's right, Son of a Son of A Sailor.

So enjoyed the show....and Martin Denny and Henry Kapono....missed Don Ho's introduction, though...was in the long line waiting to get in..

Set list was kewl and Jimmy seemed to really be having a great time!

Now, on to Maui!

Yes, it was. He mentioned it would be on License to Chill CD.

As I recall, somewhere it was mentioned that they might combine the Honolulu and Maui show for a DVD. They were taping the show at the Waikiki Shell. There was a center stage camera and at least one hand held camera working the show. Let's hope so.
