Last Mango Back Cover

Post by Parrot Monkey »

Does anyone know where I can see the original back cover to Last Mango in Paris? I’ve done many searches and looked at all the sales on eBay and no body is showing it.

It’s the only back cover I have yet to see (unless Off To See the Lizard has a different back cover than the CD).

I'm not sure. I looked on the inner notes and didn't see anything about who the girl was :-?

And the back cover for the CD:

I think I prefer the LP back.

The flat scan is a good idea. I might just print it out on a blank tray liner.

Thanks to your scan Air M'Ville Cap'n, my CD now has a better back cover. While it may not be the complete back cover and the print is hard to read, its better than it was.

I got a little crazy tonight and scanned a lot of my Buffett records and redid my Album Artwork page on my website. Now there are several back covers from the old stuff and some Inner shots too. If you haven't seen some of the old covers, they are worth taking a look.

Also if anyone has any of the back covers or inner stuff that I don't have, That'd be great if you could send me a scan, or post it here. Thanks

Air M'Ville Cap'n, You are the man. Thanks to you, my CDs will now have better back covers.

Seriously, that was a smart idea of adding that all to your site.

Cap’n, it appears that you have the MCA reissue of SOASOAS. After MCA bought ABC/Dunhill in 1979, they went back and reissued all Jimmy’s previous albums and eliminated the inner art and anything that was on the dust covers, leaving just the front and back covers. Unfortunately, you have the MCA reissue. :(

Here is a pic of the art:

Anyone who owns it please scan for the Cap’n to add to Buffett World.

I’ve spent all day printing out the art on Fellows templates, and boy do they look authentic! :D I’ve even done the gatefold images for A-1-A, CILCIA and Volcano. Yeah, most of the print is unreadable and its not perfect, but hay, anything beats the MCA “Compact Disc/Compact Price crap.

I would love to take some pics and show you all how they turned out, but I don’t have any web space.

AMC, thank you! What a great site you have. Those album covers are priceless! Did you buy them at the time or get them recently on ebay?

Thanks a lot. Yea it was great when I got those to see the old pictures on the back covers and the inside artwork. And I've bought all that I have (12 of them I believe) in the past 4-5 months off eBay and I'm still looking to get the ones I dont have.

AMC, does your Coconut Telegraph have anymore art than the front and back? If not, you have a reissue. There was a lot of art eliminated by cheap MCA for that reissue.

The cobo.org discography has all the info on the different vynil and CD issues.

Does anyone own the Off To See The Lizard record? I know MCA improved in the art department on the CDs starting with SYKBH, but seeing how the back covers to Floridays and Hot Water are heavily modified and missing stuff, I assume the OTSTL vinyl back cover is better than the CD’s.
