We both got 4 tickets, We sold the extra tickets at cost to ph phriends of ours. We just wanted to cover all bases. I WILL not go to a ticket broker. If I can't get tickets the old fashion way I will not go. How many other phans feel that way ?? Let me know.
First of all, if I can't get tix through TM, I usually watch the ticket swap board here and at several other places. The past two times that I've been shut out, I've found tix at face value.

If I still have no tix by the week of the show, I start looking around and comparing prices of brokers. If it comes down to it, I will go to one as long as going to one does not require me to dip into my grocery or my rent money. I go to 2-3 shows a year, and I look forward to those 2-3 days about as much as any other day of the year. If I have to pay a little extra, that's okay as long as I can still eat and pay my bills.

I agree with GITP on this one. I do have a problem with brokers taking all the tickets from people, but I also have a problem with me not having enough money the day tickets do on sale. I try to get to 4-6 shows a summer, and I cant buy them all in a weeks span on my college budget. So I usually end up buying 4 shows from TM and 2 from a broker. I hate brokers, but I also look forward to seeing Bubba more than anything else all year, it is like my christmas so... I gotta do what I gotta do!

Well good news in Jersey. A broker from Tri State tickets in Old Bridge was arrested for overcharging tickets and tax fraud. He lost his million dollar house (which he purchased thanks to those who like supporting crooks) and now is a fugitive because he jumped bail. If you really hate brokers, $10,000 reward for this predator.
If caught, lets flog him at every Buffett show.

No picture with this story, but I may look for him and maybe I can recoup the money for overpriced lawn seats I paid for two shows in the late 90's.

Let me emphasize for those who use brokers: Wait until the week of the show!! I know this is frustrating (Yes, I am one of those who likes to plan out the next ten years of my life :D so it kinda makes me a little nervous too!) But, the brokers will never sell out, and as the show approaches, they will lower their prices because they have to get rid of them. In the meantime (in between the onsale date and the week of the show), check the ticket exchange here, at cobo, at jimmydreamz, at parrotrepublic, and at parrotkey; you just might find some tix at face value and be able to avoid the broker altogether!
