First of all, if I can't get tix through TM, I usually watch the ticket swap board here and at several other places. If I still have no tix by the week of the show, I start looking around and comparing prices of brokers. If it comes down to it, I will go to one as long as going to one does not require me to dip into my grocery or my rent money. I go to 2-3 shows a year, and I look forward to those 2-3 days about as much as any other day of the year. If I have to pay a little extra, that's okay as long as I can still eat and pay my bills.
so it kinda makes me a little nervous too!) But, the brokers will never sell out, and as the show approaches, they will lower their prices because they have to get rid of them. In the meantime (in between the onsale date and the week of the show), check the ticket exchange here, at cobo, at jimmydreamz, at parrotrepublic, and at parrotkey; you just might find some tix at face value and be able to avoid the broker altogether!
