Mine is easy. The Banana Wind tour, The Gorge at George, WA

We all love the tailgates. So imagine one that continued for 48 hours. Yes 48 hours. The Gorge is a very remote location. Therefore, there is campground at the venue. They opened the campground on Friday morning and we were some of the first through the gate. There was a Friday night show and a Saturday show. We had all day Friday to begin our tailgate. We quickly found out that we had not brought enough beer so we went into George for a resupply. Well we bought I think 30 or so cases of Corona and a bunch of ice. Well we realized that we did not have enough cooler space for the beer so while driving by a house a friend of mine saw they had a kiddie pool in the front yard. We pulled in empty handed and pulled out $20 poorer and one big ice holder richer. The show was one of the best ever, we had Friday night tickets on the lawn and participated in 400-500 P-head long conga lines. Then returned to camp to continue the party. And OH MY GOD what a party it was. There were flatbed trailers that brought portable beaches, $100,000 motorhomes parked right next to people sleeping in their beat up Subarus, and phans everywhere. As you walked through "Tent City" (As Jimmy refered to it as in the show) You were treated to drinks at every group you stopped at. At one point I got back to our group carrying 11 beers in various pockets. The party lasted all night long and I admit it was almost a Woodstock like atmosphere. As you sat in one spot you could look around and see nakedness and acts unacceptable for description in this family friendly forum. The next day we had like 25th row tickets but we got to move closer when we met some other Parrotheads in the parking lot who had extras in the 8th row.

Too bad that the Gorge is now alcohol free, as I would love to experience that atmosphere again

Alpine 2002... won the Hokey Pokey contest... on stage with Jimmy... he motioned me to the center of the stage, shook my hand, and talked to me  ... then he sent me to sit in "the best seat in the house" - a chair by a palm tree on the side of the stage... then he got a bucket full of Corona's, opened one up, and served it to me... then he sang the Hokey Pokey to me! :D That view of the Alpine crowd was awesome... but not quite as incredible as that view of Jimmy and the CRB!

Buckeye Lake, Fruitcakes tour. A neverending lawn, rain, and tons of fun. Hearing the congas slowly come to life at the start of the show still sends chills down my spine.

I'd say it's a toss up between Vegas in April, 2000 and Nashville 2 years ago. The Vegas show was on my birthday and believe it or not it was the first time I ever traveled out of NY to see Buffett. Nashville, 2002 was kind of a milestone because it was 2 days before my 50th birthday.

The late 70s, before the Parrothead phenomenon kicked in (not that there's anything the matter with that) when I could actually hear the lyrics without a thousand screaming drunks hollering in my ear. No stage props, no orchestra size band, just some good music and thousands of your closest friends.

I have to give the nod to Vegas a couple weeks ago just for the uniqueness factor.
