Deluxe Edition Series

I just picked up the Deluxe Edition Series of the "The Harder They Come, The Harder They Fall" soundtrack. It is awesome.

Included in the packaging was a partial list of some of the others in the series. They include a variety of artists on a variety of lables, from Bob Marley on Island and Marvin Gaye on Motown to Skynyrd and the Who on MCA.

With all the talk about Buffett reissues, this may be a place to turn to. A search of their catalogue shows the Buffett box set and most (if not all) of his MCA releases. They indicate there will be more releases in the series, and they seem to do a very good job with the packaging. Each release has the original tracks on one CD and a second CD with unreleased material (alternate cuts, live versions, etc.).

Maybe a BN/Parrothead e-mail campaign would convince them to release CILCIA as a start. Don't know how Jimmy would feel about it, but we can hope.

According to one poster here this won't happen unless sales of Buffett's catalog slows down to a crawl but I just don't buy into that, especially considering the other artists who've recently overhauled their complete catalogs. I like this series as well but it's only one album here or there (with the exception of the Marley collection). I think Buffett's albums deserve the same treatment but at this point even one album would be a great start.

Those are great. The Marvin Gaye "What's Goin' On" is fantastic.

What a great idea! CILCIA probably would be the first album they would pick, as it’s the one that has Margaritaville on it.

Just get the original art back out there and not include any generic crap in its place again.

It really annoys me that L&DI ¾ time, CILCIA and OPH all have the generic moniker logo in the bottom right corner. It appears in 98% of all the images I see on the net of those front covers! I hate the fact that they are part of the covers, why couldn’t they just be stickers on the plastic wrapping? Those numbers in the bottom left corner don’t need to be there either.
