Around here it is not the people who work at the store who make a mess,

it's the animals that are called customers!
LOL, I almost said that in my post! The kids running amok are probably a large source of the problem.

Talk about overkill...
Hell dude... we have 5 or 6 within a 15 - 20 mile range here

And 2 Super Targets within 12 miles...

And Now they're building a New 20 theater cinema... and it's only 4 miles away from the Hollywood 18 Cinema
[edit: I clocked the movie theater... it's 2.3 miles]
sounds like you have it all. Toss in a Piggly Wiggly, and a Kroger, and you are golden. :)

There isn't a trailer park anywhere near either of the 2 in my immedaite area...and we live pretty close to each other.
Really?! What area?

Good for LA! I can not stand Walmart. Been killen the hardworkn, honest, Ma and Pa's for years. Plus I do not know who is managing these places, but wow. Take one walk in and it looks like a war zone. Their managers obvously have no pride or plan of action at all.
Guest service- does not exist.
Cleanlieness- does not exist.
There is nothing good about the presentation of their store. Unless they are going for the bedroom of a six year old look. Neither thier team members or managers have a clue how to talk to customers. The company does not give a rats arse about the community around them. I understand business is money and money is business. but come on, support a local charity, sponser a little league team.

I read an article in the paper a couple of weeks ago about how much Target is gaining on Wal Mart. The story cited Targets cleanliness and crisp merchandising.

When it comes to customer service, Wal Mart is right above McDonalds on my list of the worst companies for customer service.

And you know, I haven't been in a Target yet where the cashier's didn't look awake, mostly alert, and at least attempted to greet you with a smile. The stockpersons try to actually keep their stuff from blocking the entire aisle and the stores just seem to be brighter and more cheery.

I don't feel like I walked out of a slum when I walk out of Target.

My town kept Super Walmart off the island..HUGE battle..We made CNN..The local merchants had a funeral for their businesses...complete with hearse and they all threw their wares in the casket, and drove to the proposed site..

Many petitions and arguments and fights...........

They built about 8 miles off island..but we kept them off the island...and that was a victory....

Just a bit north of you, in Schuylkill.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel recently reported that Wal-Mart has the most employees on the state-subsidized BadgerCare, which provide health insurance for the working poor.

State officials are concerned that big companies are looking for ways to cut soaring health care costs, so they make it harder and more expensive for employees to get coverage. That means more of the working poor turn to state-sponsored health insurance.
Gotta love them

huh....there's more people around me than I realized :)

There were far more trailer parks (and a lot more open land) when I moved out this way 5 yrs ago. A lot of them have been bought and pushed out to make room for housing developments.

Depends on the Target. The Target here in our town use to be HIGH class. Then something happened, and it looks like Walmart. Matter of fact there are days I would rather go to Walmart than our local Target.

Now that is sad...

Now, I am no fan of WM. All I buy there is cat food. But, in Canada, there is commitment on their part to charities through something called Good. Works. Program.

It's encouraging.

Target has always been a good member of the communities in which they operate. (Contrary to the whining about not allowing the SA to have bell-ringers outside their stores; and some witless weasel's claim that they were really owned by a French company and needed to be boycotted...)

I have a Target just down the road about 2 miles, one going in on the next freeway interchange north of the office; and Wal*Marts bracketing them from there. I am not sure the last time I was in Wal*mart, but Target gets at least one visit a month. :)
