Re: favorite beer?
I just had a DUGANA I.P.A. from Avery Brewing in Boulder, CO last night on tap at Pizza Port in Solana Beach, CA
It was fantastic...very tasty and easy to drink. I highly recommend it:
Beer Style: Double India Pale Ale
Hop Variety: Chinook, Centennial and Columbus
Malt Variety: Two-row barley, dark aromatic, caramel malt
OG: 1.076 ABV: 8.5% IBUs: 93
Color: Deep Gold
Availability: Limited release. Inaugural batch was released in early October '09. Brewed whenever we have a little extra tank space and a desire for dank hops!
Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became "unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma." Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.
Then I tried Pizza Port's own BIG WEDNESDAY BELGIAN I.P.A. It was also great...

C-Dawg, let me know if you want to try any Pa. Micro brews I have here in town. Troegs, Ironhill, Appalachain Brewing Company, Lancaster Brewing Compnay. If you are going to Camden or back to Critter Palooza again I can grab you some. Or give some to Tam to take back to you after Camden.C-Dawg wrote:I can't do Bud, or any of the A-B family. For that matter, I can't do Coors, or most of the Miller products ( I do like MGD but never seem to buy it). Wish I could do cheap beer but they all give me wicked headaches. My cheap beers are Corona or Labatts Blue, but mostly I drink Microbrews and imports like Newcastle or Guiness. We normally have 3-6 different beers in the beer fridge.Johnny's Lounge wrote:Budweiser

I can respect a Bud drinker who's loyal to his brew.

So many beers, so little time . . .
Have really been liking Hop Wallop by Victory Brewing Company.
Other favorites are:
Chimay Blue
Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA
Stone IPA
Smithwick's
Hoegaarden
And, of course, various ones from Shiner. I really liked the Shiner Holday Cheer and Shiner 101 in addition to my old friend Shiner Bock.

Bobby: No.

Let me check one of my localstops for beer...we have a place called the Beverage warehouse, and they get beer from all over the world, not just the country.....let me see if they're stocking any of those you mentioned. The place is right next to the Homebrewing store, and I just stopped in there last week and talked to them about getting back into brewing my own...so I'm due to be over there in the near futurebackstreets77 wrote:C-Dawg, let me know if you want to try any Pa. Re: favorite beer?

Wheatbeer is my favourite style, both wit and hefeweizen, but I prefer the hefeweizen. Favourite brands are Paulaner, Weihenstephan and Erdinger.
Pilsners are also good, as are pale ales, IPA, California Common, saison, blonde and some pale lagers (like Corona on a hot summer day).

After a lengthy trip to the USVI/BVI, we're hooked on Virgin Islands Mango Pale Ale. MMMM. So very refreshing!

Those that are at the top of my favorite list include:
Southern tier's Unearthly IPA
Dogfish Head's 90 minute IPA (the 120 is better but really hard to get a hold of)
Chimay Blue
Troeg's Mad Elf
Anchor Steam
Troeg's Sunshine Pils
and the list goes on...
If you take the 60 & 90 and mix together the taste is unbelievable. I have always been a 90 fan but wanted the 120 so bad but when i did find it I was very disappointed to much sweetness for my IPA likeness. Try mixing the 90 & 60 (make a 75) i believe you will like it.

When visiting our good friends in the Keys last week my buddy had Negra Modelo on hand for me to try for the first time.
This is a dark Mexican beer that has a very smooth taste: http://www.crownimportsllc.com/ourbrand ... modelo.htm
