I am sure you will find a lot of people from this board that do like him, however I am not one of them. I think his music is ok but there is something about his voice that I do not care for.

I think he's great! I saw him at Cabin Fever over the weekend and loved it. It was the 2nd time I have seen him live. I actually purchased my first 2 CDs on Saturday.

If you'd like to hear him again, and you'd like to see
the north Florida area, you should put the following
dates on your calendar:

Saturday, July 24 - Jim Morris & Sunny Jim White
Beaches A1A PHC Annual Beach Bash - St Augustine Beach

Saturday, December 11 - Jim Morris & the Big Bamboo Band
Beaches A1A PHC Holiday Party - Mayport (N Jax Beach)

You have to register for the Beach Bash, but it's
a great weekend event and well worth the trip!

You beat me to it! So far, this is the only Jim and Jim duet show scheduled for 2004, getting to hear some stories behind some of their songs is quite a treat. Plus, you have a good chance of hearing Jim M. sing "Mike".

Needless to say we enjoy his stuff a lot. My favorie songs would probably be 'Southward' and 'Magic on the Water', but you can really relate to his stuff, kind of like early JB.
Based on the following songlines, my life is lot more like JM then JB at present
"A cooler of beer on the beach with my friends" - JM

"New Years Eve in Zanzibar with Babu and his boys" - JB

Jim Morris and the BBB are GREAT! My favorite songs are too numerous to mention but I have to agree on Livin' til the Day I Die. I also like What Kind of Fool Can I Be? Don Cesar and of course, Slice of the Island Life/Dance.

Oh, and BTW..... the first stop of their next leg of the winter tour is right here in Virginia Beach! Feb. 25th! For more info, e-mail or PM me. Tickets are only $15 and it promises to be a GREAT time!

Laid Back and Key Wasted

Three Day Drunk Loookin' for a Place to Happin'

Livin' Till the Day I Die

These are my 3 favorite Jim Morris songs. Of course I love them all. His songs affect me the same way as Jimmy's does.

He is terrific! I have found out that some people get his music and some people don't. If you're one of those that don't, I'm sorry! You guys are really missing out.

I have all his cds and love em all. His show at Tampa salvaged the trip last February. The "inside" show wasn't as good as the "outside" show in that case.

I catch myself singing his songs as much as any when I happen upon a scene somewhere...

Floating Opera is just one of them. That is such a great tune.
Three Day Drunk
I live in MY Car
Bar Stools and Beach Chairs

My favorite CD of his is Trolling For Mermaids...Live at the Bait Shop. It just don't get much better for live stuff to me!!!

I was actually there for the recording of this CD. If you look at the front cover, to the left, you'll see someone there with long red hair (my back). That's ME! Also, the group shot inside is of the ParrotKey people who "stalk" JM/BBB. The two shows at the Bait Shop were definitely the best shows we've seen yet. Unfortunately, I heard a rumor that the Bait Shop was sold and I don't think they'll have the Mermaid Fest there this Labor Day. I hope it's just a rumor. If anyone out there knows anything about it, please post it here. I've already put in for vacation time to make the trip to Toledo.

Jim Morris is great. I've seen him 3 times including last year in Tampa - that was an awsome time. I think he fits nicely with JB, especially considering his JJW influences.

Today, my favorite songs are Laid Back and Key Wasted and Visually Cool and Pleasantly Numb. Southward is a good one too.

I first heard him on RM and had to do some digging to find his music. You have to see him live to appreciate the fun of the songs and the audience participation. If you ever get a chance to see him, go...and buy Trolling for Mermaids to prep yourself.
