Sounds good to me. (I try to keep away from the sweet stuff.)
Bacardi Limon and tonic is another nice quaff.

Appleton's Estate Reserve and Pusser's are not off brands. Somehow they missed the list. Long ago when Cruzan was an off brand it was the best rum for the dollar. You could get a 750ml bottle spiced or gold for $2.00 in the Virgin Islands. Then some Country Music jerk invested a ton of money in the company, raised the price and ruined the rum. Stick to what you know...

When I used to drink rum, it was Cruzan. All of the Sapphire Sunday's on St. Thomas hold brilliant memories!

Cruzan with diet pepsi and lime, drunk and skinny at the same time. Sometimes Capt Mo, Brugal or Pussers.

I am a rum snob! While I like the Appleton Estate, the Special ...tall with diet coke and no fruit is my drink of choice. :D

Appleton Special Jamaica Rum is estate-distilled at Appleton Estate. It is a blend of full-flavored traditional pot still rums and lighter character modern column still rums. These rums are aged separately in oak barrels and afterwards hand-blended to produce a fine, medium-bodied golden rum. This rum has a fuller nose and taste than Puerto Rican gold rum which is made only from column stills, however Appleton Special Jamaica Rum is mild and smooth; it won't overpower cola or your favorite mixer and it is incomparable in coladas.

Mount Gay Barbados Sugar Cane Rum, also hardly an "off brand" is a great sippin' rum. Recently was in Margaritaville, Myrtle Beach and was disappointed by the rum selection. I think it was basically Bacardi, Myers Dark, Bacardi, Capt. Morgan and of course Bacardi. :-? The Capt. is good but the only thing I like to mix my rum with is a little ice 8)

Hey Jimmy, isn't it time to introduce your own label of premium rum, in the spirit of the Margaritaville family of course!

He should have moved on Cruzan before his littler, balder clone did. If he goes into the Rum business now, you are going to get something like Margaritaville Tequila rather than a top-end product.

True but maybe he could form a partnership of sorts with Mt Gay. Remember his "Ringling" endorsement in the liner notes of YHTBT :)
