Concert replay on RM for 2-21-04

Post by captainjoe »

I had a quick question, on the home page for Radio Margaritaville, it says that the concert replay will be a concert from 2000, but when you click on "What's On" and select 2-21-04, it says Central Park, 1977. Which one is it? Not that it matters, I will listen either way. Just wanted to clarify it.

Thanks! :-?

The front page hasn't been updated, it's the Central Park '77 show. The 2000 one was last week.

Um.... But, Jimmy didn't play Central Park in '77 (Did he?).... Wasn't that Simon and Garfunkel?

Buffett played Central Park on August 22 and 27, 1977.

If you're referring to Simon and Garfunkel's live album, The Concert in Central Park, it was recorded on September 19, 1981.

hmmm, you can download this version from http://buffett.ontheweb.nu/

I hope the one they run on RM is better quality than the realplayer stuff bufffettonetheweb has. we'll see.

It's a little better, but the orinigal mixing of it wasn't very good.

Central Park show was great. Jimmy was high on coke at the time, if you listen to margaritaville you will understand why.

Buffett played one show in Central Park and it was on August 2nd based on a newspaper article and the fact that he mentions it's a Tuesday night.

"Jimmy Buffett, who appeared Tuesday at the Dr. Petter Music Festival in Central Park (the concert had been scheduled for Monday, but was rained out)..."

The New York Times; Thursday, August 4, 1977; Page C19

Thanks for the article. I got my info from the COBO database. I'm not sure if it was originally compiled by the COBO folks, nor can I swear to it's accuracy but if there's a central database somewhere that everyone relies on you may want to bring this to their attention.
