Calypso Poet 99 wrote:Our local radio station has "Songs you know by heart" in thier rotation. On any given day you can hear 3 or 4 songs by Bubba, sometimes they will play them back to back at lunch. Not the songs I usualy listen to, but its enough to keep you going until the end of the day.
Where do you live in Michigan, cuz I never hear Buffett where I live!

Here in Pittsburgh we have a quasi-independent station (WYEP) that's known for playing mainly non-mainstream stuff. I remember they had "Fruitcakes" in their rotation a few years back.
Like other folks have mentioned, I seem to hear Jimmy's stuff most often in restaurants and retail places that have the piped-in-style music. What is that, anyway? Is it satellite radio, or some kind of comercial-free digital service?
I'm obviously a pretty low-tech guy when it comes to audio

Here in Charlotte there is a new independent radio station that plays 60's, 70's, some 80's and little 90's music. It is actually out of Hickory NC, 95.7 "The Ride". I have heard on more than 1 occasion the following songs:
M'ville
CILCIA
Pirate Looks at 40
SOASOAS
Cheeseburger
Come Monday
He Went to Paris
If you go to the website:
http://957theride.com/home.asp and click on "music" you can see they played SOASOAS at 1:49 am and Come Monday at 2:40 pm today. Very cool mix of music, one time a Jimi Hendrix song followed Jimmy Buffett. If you are ever in town I highly recommend the station.
And, no, I am not affiliated with the station in any way. Well, except for the listener part!

Just this last Christmas I heard "Jingle Bells" on the radio.
Also have heard "Fruitcakes" "CILCIA" the usuals, Margaritaville, and Come Monday", "Five O Clock Somewhere"
Seems like everytime that I'm in Walmart they play some Jimmy.
I've heard "One Particular Harbour" and "SOASOAS" there.
A while back my mom was over and heard "Who's the blonde stranger" and said she remembered it from when it was on the radio when it first came out.
She also recently heard "Pencil Thin Mustache" on the radio and called me to ask for a copy.
She thought that it was a new song and being a Lucille Ball/Ricky Ricardo fan she just had to have it.
