OH yes! I read the Da Vinci Code a few months ago...i couldn't put this book down! WOW!

Very well researched and very very interesting....I also read Girl With the Pearl Earring......i'm really interested in all of these books based on paintings!!!

That was teh first book I've read by Dan Brown....so now I"m reading Angels and Demons....very very good so far as well!!!!

Any other art/painting stories that anyone can think of???

Great book, very intriguing. However, not everything which Brown presented as fact is actually fact. It is a fictional novel and he did take some creative liberties with certain "facts" Nonetheless, great read, typical "grail quest" book, but very exciting. Intertwined some real facts with some creativeness to come up with a good book.

Right its obviously fiction, but he researched things so well it becomes believable. And it's fun to think of some of the things in this book as "true".

I agree it was well researched, just saying that not all of his stated facts are actually true. The olympic rings thing for example. They do not represent what he stated they represent. & I thought it was a great book.

Ok, not sure I get your point since I am not discussing the Bible here. Not really comparing the two books nor saying TDC is incorrect because the Bible is. Do you have a point with your statement? Other than some people believe the Bible is fiction... of course some people think that. How does it relate to comments on TDC?

I haven't read it yet but my wife has and enjoyed it. She read the book (can't remember the title) that came out just before Davici Code and said that it was even better and made DC more enjoyable the second time through.

Prolly Angels And Demons...
Same main character, takes place in the Vatican, I believe.

I just finished TDC over the weekend it was GREAT! Now I've gotta wait until my daughter finishes A&D, and then I'm on to that book next.

Just finished the DaVinci Code and I found this book to be very well written, thought provoking, and quite a story. Dan Brown definitely presents some interesting ideas/facts. It is a real page turner. I read it in a day because I couldn't put it down.

Another fan here. After reading DVC I too went out and bought other books of his.

Absolutely, keep this in mind. Because he is such a good writer and obviously knows his subject matter it's difficult to seperate fact from fiction.
If you really want to make your head hurt go to the DVC web site and try to solve his on-line codes.

I am reading this for the second time now. I still think Angels and Demons is a better book.

Also, I just read somewhere that Tom Hanks has signed on to play the lead in the movie.

I"ve read all of Dan Brown's books and love them. That said...

This is very true. People forget it's a fictional novel. There are facts in there and alot of fact based fiction. Try his code breaking on his web site. I only got thru the first 2 levels. Very tough stuff.
Angels and Demons is the prequel to Davinci Code so if you haven't read it yet you should read this first. I saw the Girl with the Pearl Earing movie but haven't read the book yet. The movie is very beautiful.
