I remember my first pair of pantyhose in Grade 8 - they came from ENGLAND and were a brand called Pretty Polly. No more garter belts (except for MUCH more adult activity!) And long after 8th grade!!

Some of it is before my time...but not much.
I remember my hand held 1st blowdryer.... a SUPERMAX. It was orange and cost a fortune! It was my "BIG" Christmas present that year...maybe 1970 LOL. I was about 10.
Some of the first lawsuits against tobacco companies mentioned candy cigarettes. They said it was an attempt to get little kids to start smoking. No lie.

Apparently mid-30s is plenty old enough to remember this stuff. Great thread. If you get a chance, go out to Wikipedia and read about the defining features of the different generations. It's actually a pretty damn interesting read...
Can you believe my 13 year old daughter is not old enough to remember life before computers and the internet? I remember when we got our first TI994a... It used a cassette tape for a hard drive.

Further back, I remember our first COLOR TV, and when my mom smacked my dad when he bought her the first microwave for Mothers Day. News Anchors smoking DURING the broadcast...
