Honeymoon Ideas?

I'm planning on getting married in the next couple of years, and I'm looking for honeymoon ideas. She would like to go to Disney World for part of it, but I've got to go to a beach. Someone a year or two ago posted something about Sunset Beach in North Carolina, and I've looked at that some. Where has been your all's favorite honey moons or vacation spots? I'm looking for that "one particular harbour" or my very own "Margaritaville".

Depending on how long your trip is, you can go to Disney World for a few days and then ride over to Daytona. It's only about an hour from Orlando to Daytona.

You can also do a Disney Cruise package. My friends did this for their honeymoon 2 years ago, spend 3 days at Disney, and then a 4-day caribbean cruise (including a day on Disney's private island in the Bahamas).

You don't want to be with crowds on your honeymoon. Go somewhere quiet and enjoy the company of each other with sand and water.

Not that I"m being bias or anything, but Ocracoke, NC doesn't have big crowds. It's small and quiet.
I kinda want to go to FIJI though.

Hmmmm....here are four places that are fantastic offering something unique at each place.
Grand Cayman, like to dive?..expensive, beautiful ocean views the most incredible sunsets I have ever witnessed.
Jamaica, all inclusive..spoil yourslves!!!!
Cabo San Lucas, diving, fishing, snorkeling, sight seeing, shopping, off the hook nite life.
Loreto, Baja Sur. Off season at Blue Whales all inclusive, its hot, bring several of your favorite Buffett CD's, slip the entertainment guru a few bucks and its you, your mate and Bubba and all you can drink and eat!!!

I went to Fiji for my honeymoon (Turtle Island) - it was the ultimate honeymoon experience. Private island for 14 couples, 12 private beaches, gourmet dinners, your every whim catered to. We had private beach picnics w/ excellent wine and lobster every day. It was so great. Only problem is the price tag - my in-laws sent us there as our wedding gift. We could never have afforded it on our own!

I suggest that you go to the Captiva/Sanibel Island area near Ft. Myers, Fla. The beaches there are awesome.

I second that. You can get a cabin on the tip of Sanibel, just across the bridge from Captiva. Ding Darling Reserve is a beautiful place and the Bubble Room is a must-see. If your lady likes shells it's the *only* place to go in the States to fill your luggage with shells.
Birds at Sunset at Ding Darling, Sanibel
You're also only 3-3.5 hours from Orlando if you stay at Sanibel. You can either take I75 to I4 or you can go through the middle of the state and see the *real* Florida. I like the middle drive better than the interstate.

Fiji has great airfare during the US summer months. However, if you want to stay cheap hop over to the Cook Islands. Another option would be to rent a house in Jamaica. My family rented one last June; the ultimate service level. The home comes with a full staff (cook, maid, butler, etc.).

Sanibel/Captiva is great! Another place I would recommend would be
'Tween the Waters Inn on Captiva. I've been there twice, once for a wedding (not mine) and once to just get away. It's a nice place with an easy going attitude and you literally have beach on one side of the property and marina/sea kayaking/fishing on the other. You can get either a traditional hotel room or you can reserve a "beach cabin". Here's the website:

What about Hawaii? There are lots of great and inexpensive packages available. Each island has its own individual character, from big (ish) city in Honolulu on Oahu to Lanai or Molakai where you can be alone on a beach in paradise. Instead of Disney World you can fly to L.A. go to Disneyland, then hop on a jet to the Islands.

Paradise here is as true as it gets....stay at a hotel on a private island and the beaches are pure white, talcum powerder soft, warm sand....the lagoon is about 85 degrees all the time with crystal clear water for snorkling....a little $$$$$$ but worth every single penny....
May I suggest Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort!!!!!!!!

Go all-inclusive!!!! My wife and I stayed at the Sandals Inn in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Sandals operate two other properties in Mo Bay all within about 5 minutes of each other. We chose Sandals Inn because it was the cheapest (we had both just graduated from UT) and we had complete access to the other two resorts. There are actually 3 more Sandals resorts on the island which you can visit, but it is a bit of a trip (Dunn's River & Ocho Rios have golf & Negril). The food was excellent, and they have a great variety and the drinks flowed FREELY!!! It is nice to not have to worry about carrying money and tipping (not allowed) while on vacation.
Bob, are you in the Knoxville area? I can recommend the travel agent we used if you want to leave the country. Shoot me a message if I can help a fellow VOL.
I have also heard that Belize is beautiful though I have not visited.
