Buffett Movie Songs

Post by JMUparrothead »

On the New live in Las Vegas Jimmy introduces spicolis theme song talking about how hes written songs for characters like spider hunters (which i know is arachnophobia) Fisherman, and Spicoli.
What song did he write about fisherman? I'm probably gonna kick myself when i realize it. but for the life of me I cant think of it!

Senior moment?

Post by cartmill72 »

I think Jimmy must have been having a senior moment. Or perhaps I'm just not up on my Buffett catalog like I should be.

Here's the only Buffett movie music I know off the top of my head (some of which you mentioned)...

Hello Texas (Urban Cowboy)
I Don't Know (Fast Times At Ridgemont High)
Turning Around (Summer Rental)
Don't Bug Me (Arachnophobia)
Ragtop Day (The Slugger's Wife)
Stars On The Water (The Firm)
Purple People Eater (Contact)
Livingston Saturday Night (FM)
Rancho Deluxe soundtrack

In addition, he did the TV theme song Johnny Bago.

I know he made the reference to the song at the Vegas show, but I sure don't see it on the above list.

YEAH! I dont have a clue, I'm sure ONE of the extremely devoted folks here on BN (who know what jimmy ate for breakfast this morning...not that theres anything wrong with that :D ) must know what he was talking about. I sure hope it wasnt a senior moment cause I REALLY wanna know what he was talking about. Thanks for you help though cartmill72!

Easy one! It's "Why Don't We Get Drunk and..."

Hurt's head nurse also sang it to him when he had his own surgery.

It shows a guy fishing on the cover of "Prince of Tides" - was he a fisherman / football coach?
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
