License to Chill Delayed!

Post by JMUparrothead »

According to Mailboat licence to chill will not be coming out until mid May. :( They also said that tour dates will be release in April and the new DVD will be released this fall.

I am really suprised that Jimmy would allow this to happen again. I don't know what kind of say he has in things over at mailboat but this seems to be a regular thing with them. There always seems to be some kind of problem with them. From what I have heard on this board and on other boards that have posts about Jimmy it seems that he is sort of a perfectionist but then again maybe it is not just Mailboat. If I remember correctly weren't some of his books scheduled to come out on a certain date and then delayed?

The book and the CD will probably come out together as a "Collectors Set" at some rediculously inflated price...

I hope this dont mean the "SPRING" tour dates are "Tiki Time" tour dates.

I also wonder whether those spring concerts will be the new tour or the old one.

As for the book, by my recollections it has been delayed a number of times adding up to a year or two's worth of delays.

its intersting that he gives Sports Illustrated the title track, then performs the title track on the Today Show, then releases a video only to delay the album a few more months.Something is very strange about that!

Would be hard to have that since there's not even a relese date yet. It should come out after we know a date.

I thought "Conchy Tonk" was pretty damn clever, and fits right with his image. "License to Chill" sounds a little rap-artist-y.

I have absolutely no idea how these things work and how the release date is determined, but it could be that Jimmy's somewhat perfectionist nature is causing the delay. Perhaps he's tweaking the songs, trying to pick the right song list, re-writing his book, etc., until it's just right. I'd rather have a better CD 2 months later than something thrown together just to make the earlier release date.

Again, I am ignorant on the mechanics of the release date, and whether the holdup could be on Jimmy's end at all. Just a thought.

It'll be interesting to see how many of the new songs will be played at the Tampa show, since it's supposed to be the first show of the LTC tour. I'm gonna be a little dissappointed if their are some really cool songs on the LTC cd that don't get played in Tampa because the cd hasn't been released yet. BUT!!!!! It is gonna be really, REALLY COOL to see Jimmy again. So I can't complain too much(just a little) :pirate:
