Anyone as excited about this album as I am? It's basically a blues album and I got a preview of it on the Sony website. I love the blues and I love Aerosmith and I've got a feeling this one will cut into some Buffett play time.

here's the link if you want to check it out.

I've seen Aerosmith live for the past four years in a row and every year they put on a great show (although I could have done without Kiss this year... ) But I am DEFINATELY getting this album the day it comes out!

I never miss an Aerosmith show here in the Motor City. They did a few tunes off of the new cd on last summer's tour. Aerosmith.... the greatest rock n roll band on the planet!!! :D :D :D

Be better if the albulm came out around 10 years ago when they still knew how to perform. Seen them around 10 times in the last 15 years, and decided back in 1999 after having 7th row seats for the last two shows of their US tour, that i would never spend another penny on anything that they put out.

I never saw them live back in the 70s when I first got into them but I finally saw them on the Get A Grip Tour a few years ago and thought they were great live. As for their studio albums, aside from an occasional tune here or there, they haven't done anything I felt compelled enough to pick up since Night in the Ruts.

I saw Kiss in 1977 as one of my first concerts and was blown away. I loved them so much back then (and Buffett too, so cool he referenced them on "Manana"). However, I don't think they've aged very well with time for me. I had everything they did up to the solo albums on vinyl but have never purchased anything by them on CD. As far as theatrical rock type stuff goes, I feel Alice Cooper's early work have aged much better for me.

Cheap Trick was another early show I saw. They were on a bill with local (NC) band Nantucket and headliners AC/DC (Bon Scott-era) and they put on one of the best shows I've ever seen. Highly energetic and highly entertaining.

LOL.. yea well said!

However, on Aerosmith. I doubt it could be any worse than the crap they have released in recent years.

I like the recent stuff. Not as much as the stuff made before I was born <insert generic "old man" joke here>, but let's face it - the boys from Boston had much better inspiration way back then

I think two of their all time low points in recent memory were the recording of the sappy Diane Warren ballad "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" and their appearance at the Super Bowl a few years ago with a horde of teenyboppers doing "Walk This Way".

Hmmm..."Don't wanna miss a thing" is one of my favorite recent recordings from them. As for the Superbowl, it beat the hell out of Janet and Justin...nipple or no nipple

It's sad to see them using outside writers in order to have a hit (which isn't the only time they've done so in recent years). Yes, plenty of people call on outside writers from time to time and some even pull it off, but that song has to be one of the most commercial sounding things they've ever done. If I'm going to pick an Aerosmith ballad I'd sooner go with "You See Me Cryin'" over anything they've put out since reforming.

Yeah, "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" is an atrocity to their track record.
