No Merriweather?

He jumps from New Jersey on 6/29 over to Ohio for 7/1 and back to DC/VA on 7/3.

I would've thought he would go to the Baltimore area on 6/29.

Those Clear Channel rat ba$tards no longer manage Merriweather Post. I wonder if this has anything to do with him not coming there?

This is very depressing news.

I have to say no show in Merri will make it much harder for the rest of us to get tixs to the Bristow show......I am not looking forward to the ticket blitz.....

With the recent "no tailgating" stance at and around the venue, it's not much of a loss. It was a hell of a venue before Columbia declared fun illegal.

I am so mad that he is not coming to Merriweather. When they talked about closing it I figured he would either play for 1 last time or Clear Channel would just screw us and not book him here at all. They love to book Jazz Festivals and old retread bands instead. Then I thought once they changed booking agents at Merriweather he would most certainly be there since it seems the only concerts that ever sellout there are Bubba's. I guess I was wrong. I got to see him last year at Merriweather on my birthday and this year he is playing on my B-Day at Nissan. I guess it won't be a happy one this year. Unless a miracle happens.

I was at that show. One of the best set lists I can remember.

I camped out for tickets for last years show and was #2 in line and ended up 2 rooms from the back of the pavillion. I wished they would put that on CD soon, but I will not hold out hope.

Agreed on the set list. Definitely a good show. But I can't say I'm going to miss the venue. Zero tailgating (cops even making you open your trunk to check for alcohol as you came into the parking lot). Plus, the stage is set down so low, we were about halfway up on the lawn and literally could not see the stage. We had to watch the whole show on the jumbotrons above the stage.

Personally, I was hoping he'd do two shows at Bristow. But that's just me.

Two shows at Bristow would make things alot easier as far as tickets go. I am not looking forward to seeing how quickly the tickets are going to sell out......however, I am just happy he is doing a show at Bristow :D and on July 3rd!!!! :D

Judging by the Margaritaville website, here are a lot of open dates left on his calendar. He will most likely book one date at Merriweather Post Pavilion OR Camden Yard in downtown Baltimore sometime in August.

just my .02 (that's cents, not Blood Alcohol Content)

MPP would be OK, Orioles Stadium would be OK. They both have their downsides.

fyi - gratuitious tailgating can still be achieved at MPP, with proper scouting and preparation. Just keep it cool and avoid trying to look like a drug dealer.

Dang, I thought I had bad seats at the last show I went to, but at least I was in the same room as JB. :D So, how does this work? Do they have windows out of each room so you can see the stage? Is the sound piped into each room?

Jollymon, I'm just messing with you. We all make typos from time to time. It's late, and I'm in a silly mood! :D

I'm betting he will play Camden Yards IF he can't get it worked out at Merriweather. Someone I know in the "industry" told me they were talking to officials about playing Camden Yards so that could happen. I can't see any downfalls to having it there.....the parking lot between Camden and Ravens stadium would be a huge tailgate. The problem would be you are in the city and it would take awhile to get in/out. But you could then enjoy all the places around there!

I sent an email to mailboat records about the cd's from last years show and they said no they won't be producing that show on cd but this years would be. So, even if he only comes to Nissan you can expect a cd of that show.
