I’ve noticed with Billy Joel’s the Stranger (which I have both the 1977 vinyl and 1998 remastered CD formats in my possession) that there is a picture on the back cover of the CD insert that was not used on the vinyl issue where Billy is in the same room holding the same mask as on the front cover. I guess many pictures are taken during album photo shoots and it is later decided which ones to include and which ones to scrap.
It appears that Jimmy also has many of them. When (not if) the albums get reissued, these pics should be put to use with their respective albums, along with all of the original art.
If anyone knows where I can find additional album photo shoot pics, please tell me.
