Buffett and Kerry

Post by fleshandbone »

From ABC News' Kerry campaign reporter Ed O'Keefe:
In a West Palm Beach tarmac office seemingly far from Margaritaville, Kerry received the Parrothead seal of approval, meeting with beach rocker Jimmy Buffet to discuss how the singer/author/pilot could aid Kerry's campaign for the White House.

According to senior Kerry aides, Buffet asked to speak with Kerry, hoping to "actively campaign in Florida." The Kerry campaign also welcomed N'SYNC's Chris Kirkpatrick to the star circuit Monday. The pop singer joined Kerry on the trail from Hollywood to West Palm Beach, Fla.

I may be looking into this too deeply considering Jimmy is a die-hard democrat. Can you blame him?  Considering that Bob Graham has been brought up as a possible V.P. candidate, who is a close freind of Jimmy's, maybe this means that Graham will get the V.P. spot.

I don't know why any of these "celebrities" think they have to endorse someone. Remember a few years ago when all these "celebrities" were bashing Bush and yet like almost none of them even had a college education?

Bush isn't perfect by any means but dear god Kerry has about as much true leadership as Jane Fonda (oh yea that's why he is pictured with that woman that rode in the VC chopper that were shooting at our military personnel).

Maybe Jimmy feels the same way as millions of Americans do! Bush cheated his way into the white house and totally screwed up our country. Took 8 great years of peace and prosperity and flushed it down the toilet. Anyone would be better than Bush. He is a redneck moron that has crippled the working man. He had his chance and blew it. Anyone that would vote for him is either very rich, brainwashed or just out of their mind. Go Kerry! Go Jimmy!KERRY 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!

i may not be a rocket scientist but i'm fairly positve those eight years of prosperity someone spoke of were laid by the reagan and sr. bush administrations. clinton just rode their economic coattails. go bush, sorry jimmy.

It appears Crawfish's brain has been fried on too many Margaritas. The economy was starting to slide a couple months before Bush took office. It's the normal ebb and flow of the economy, not Bush that damned it. Reaganomics did set up Clinton for a few good years.

Keep the singers and actors out of politics because most of them don't really have a clue as to what's going on.

I don't know what I dislike more... this topic, or the fact it is being discussed on buffettnews? Yes, it is buffett related news, but the political debate that follows it, I could do without. My rule is never to discuss religion and politics in an open forum.

Will Jimmy sing with Barbara Streisand next in Central Park?

Politics s**. :pirate:

You gotta admit, politics are in the hands of some crazy ass people!
Just a bunch of half baked fruitcakes!

I can't say I agree with JB, but the stars all do it...

By the way ... did Alec Baldwin ever move back to the USA? He said he was going to move out of the US if George Bush won....

If Jimmy banks to far to the left, he may do a wing over and stall!

It's spooky out there... nuthin scares me more than Kerry, Clinton and the Holy Ghost!

Ooops, its nearly 5 o'clock! Gotta go home and vote in the Texas primary (NO, not for any demykrat) for my local sheriff, for real.

Most important of all, is there

booze in the blender? :P

Say, has anyone seen my dangling chad anywhere?

What I hate is a group of Americans, in this case die-hard Republicans, railing against someone for supporting a political candidate. Each of you are obviously "endorsing" a candidate by voicing your opinions here. If you had the economic and star power of Jimmy, you'd essentially be doing the same thing. It just so happens a number of people listen to what he says.

There is nothing wrong with ANY American, be they liberal or conservative, rich or poor, Democrat or Republican, publicly voicing their support for a political candidate. Despite our diminishing freedoms, this is still America.

WAY TO GO JIMMY!

Well at least no one died from Clintons lies.He didn't start some senseless war just so his rich buddies could get control of the oil and gov. contracts in Iraq. Hey remember the U.S government had a $235 million dollar supplus and now since Duh took over as America's dictator and President of the World we are $400 billion in debt! ,he is a great leader. Rebuplicans control Congress and have Little Georgie Moron and they have ruined this country for everyone except the rich. You poor blind fools! As Jimmy would say...................."THERES NO DUMB ASS VACCINE!" KERRY 2004
