 all of his points were good.my only argument this whole thread has been when people want the law involved.
As far as that is concerned, I agree with Tomm to a point. I think there is some point where the "norm" or "acceptable" of the sport stops, a a true criminal event takes place. Is this the case for hockey? I dont know. I sure know I never want to see something worse than this in hockey, or in any sport for that matter!!!!!

A few years back we had a simular happening at out local race track. Driver A spun driver B on the track. While under caution, driver B comes flying at full speed onto the front streatch, and rear-ends driver A. The inpact is so great, that drive A's car actually explodes into a fire ball. The police are called in and driver B is arrested and charged with assult with a deadly weapon and with attempt to kill. Driver A did excape safely though.

I also watch baseball, and if someone came out of duggout to settle a conflict from 2 weeks ago by using a bat to hit a pitcher in the face who wasn't paying attention, i would hope MLB would prosocute him to death. Think about those comparisons, especially the NFL one. That should hit awfully close to home for you. that kind of violence is not acceptable in ANY place. A boxer understand the risk he is getting into so does a pro football player and a hockey player, non of them sign on to get sucker punched by some a**hole with a chip on his shoulder from a CLEAN hit months ago. it was malicious and unacceptable you should try and come to terms with that.
So Sapp should go to jail for his hit on that Green Bay Lineman last season then?

Joe I think you just hit the nail on the head!! I never skated but I have sat and had a few beers with some of the Steelheads in years past.
I have raced and the parallel is when you play hockey you and other players
skate together and you bump,pull,tug,interfer,Pi@@ off the other guy
this is why in hockey punches are thrown there is not the way to payback
the Bast@@d so you pop him, In Baseball your pitcher hits him or as he
rounds the bases he gets tripped or taged a little hard or maybe takes a
ball to the back from the 2nd baseman, basketballl there are ways to even it up in racing you bump the other racer you pull ahead of him in line, you roll tires in front of him, you Pi@@ him off he gets mad and boom he walls you or spins you. NOW coming around the ring and hitting him again
as much as I want to keep the cops off the field sorry away this guy goes
we have found the line as far as I see it.

Yes!!! Sapp doesn't deserve to play in the NFL. That is not the only thing he has done. He is out of control, and if I were an official, I would refuse to ref one of his games. He is just a no-good scum-of-the-earth thug that deserves to get the crap kicked out of him. I can't wait until someone gets tired of his mouth and jumps him after a game, beating him to a pulp. He needs to be humbled and shut-up! He doesn't surprise me though, he is from Thug University.

Geez Penn.......I have to "somewhat" agree with you......and how the heck did I miss this thread......

The whole "Hit" from behind and blindsiding was ridiculous, and I feel that Bertuzzi should be suspended for the same lenght of time that Moore is out of the line-up.....if Moore never returns, then neither does Bertuzzi..... and eye for an eye....

BUT,... I also need to remind you,.... that Claude Lemiuex, while wearing and AV'S uniform, performed the same act of violence against Kris Draper of the Wings.......hitting him from behind, into the boards, and putting him in the hospital for a period of time and needing to have his face re-arranged surgically........We will have to see if Bertuzzi will "stand up" and face the music when the time comes.......I will remind you that Lemieux did not......on his next visit to Joe Louis Arena, he simply buckled to the ground in the famous "turtle" position while he got his beating... :pirate: :pirate: :pirate: :pirate: ......

As the playoffs of 2004 begin.....Go Wings...

FINALLY! we get into something I know. Warren Sapp should not be punished for what he did to the Green Bay Lineman. The Lineman made the mistake of pursuing the ball, and Sapp did what he was supposed to do, make sure the guy with the ball had the best chance to get the most amount of yards possible. I played Defensive Line, and had done what Sapp had done on more than one occasion. Offensive Lineman know after an interception they run to the ball, but by doing that they open themselves up to being hit, notice how Sapp never got fined, or suspended for his actions. and to the other person who said how much they hate Warren Sapp and his big mouth, I have met Sapp on more than one occasion, he was a great influence to me back when I was playing, and making personal remarks on someone b/c of how they act on TV to intimidate other teams is low and impulsively following a crowd... i would hope ya'll were better than that
