I'll give it another shot, I was also right in the middle of that nasty cold so I'm sure that didn't help. Hard to concentrate when you're that miserable.

I also have a friend that bought the Nook and immediately took it back after comparing it to the Kindle. On the fence on the iPad but between the iPhone, iPod and Kindle, I can't really justify the expense of the iPad.

I just started this which is the second in a series by J. R. Ward. The first one was Covet and it was GREAT!

Still trying to get used to my digital reader...I think I might get more into it for travel purposes...at home in bed I kind of prefer an actual book.

I like to read in the bubble tub. So no e reader in there. However, at the cabin I frequently use my iphone kindle. I also load a bunch of books before traveling. Sooo much easier than lugging books around and also running out and having to pay outrageous prices at an airport.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through the galleys of Michael Connelly's new book (April release), THE FIFTH WITNESS.

Learned something new ... Matthew McConaghuey (sp) is going to play Mickey Haller in THE LINCOLN LAWYER. Here's the trailer. Looks like a March release date, maybe?

Hmmm.... Now, after the first few seconds of that trailer I almost clicked off. "Not my kind of movie; big time slimy lawyer" Until it all turned around, and now I think I might have to go see it.

Mickey Haller is not a saint, but he is a good guy. :-)

Just finished Randy Wayne White's The Sharks of Lake Nicaragua. First of his travel writing that I've read. Nice departure from the Doc Ford series.

Currently reading James Lee Burke's The Convict and Other Stories. The Dave Robicheaux books are probably my favorite reads these days, so it's interesting to compare the styles of his short stories to his novels.

I didn't get past page 30 of "The Help."

THE RED GARDEN, however, mesmerized me. I totally fell under Hoffman's spell.

Reading Ghost Shadow by Heather Graham.
It's a mystery with ghosts set in Key West. I'm about 1/3 the way through the book....many mentions about things and places in Key West, but so far, no new insights/info that I don't already know or have seen. In fact, I know more about Key West than she does. So far. I hope there's more as the book goes on.

Got the galleys for David Baldacci's new book today. Got Maeve Binchy's new title, too ... and heard from Alexander McCall Smith's assistant that they're saving me some time to talk to him about his new No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency book.

I do love my job!

See You Later Alligator by William F. Buckley

He wrote a series of spy novels and I read a few of them years ago. I just started rereading this one earlier today.

Shutter Island. Trying to decide if the book is really better than the movie. So far the movie is winning.

Re-reading some of Robert Crais's backlist. Currently reading Indigo Slam, and left off last night at the end of Chapter 6 where Elvis Cole puts on the Buffett CD in a moment of pure escapism. Gotta love it!

Just started Gator a-go-go by Tim Dorsey....... :pirate:

Last Saturday I also picked up both Dorsey's newest release Electric Barracuda and Randy Wayne White's latest Night Vision in hardback. It's rare for me to buy hardbacks, but I had various bonus coupons at Borders and thought I'd better use them up while the local store is still here....... :o
