I love Leonard Cohen's music and have been reading some info about him lately. Definitely interested in this book.

Me, too.

Got my hands on the galleys of the new Baldacci. Cannot put it down. Am headed back to finish it now. Sure would like to get SGH's take on this thriller! I wonder if any/all of it is happening/could happen. How scared do I need to be? 8)

Also read Alexander McCall Smith's new No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency story. Loved it, as I love all of his work.

Anyone read THE DISCOVERY OF WITCHES?

I'm about 200 pages in and it's fascinating. 8)

Just started Gator a-go-go by Tim Dorsey.......

Last Saturday I also picked up both Dorsey's newest release Electric Barracuda and Randy Wayne White's latest Night Vision in hardback. It's rare for me to buy hardbacks, but I had various bonus coupons at Borders and thought I'd better use them up while the local store is still here.......

Let me know what you think about these titles. Last Doc Ford novel I read was Dark Light. Wish I could say I liked it better.

THE SATURDAY BIG TENT WEDDING PARTY by Alexander McCall Smith.

Here's a Q&A I did with him. What a sweetheart.

I just spent 20 minutes on the phone with David Baldacci ... he was just as nice and gracious as I imagined him to be. Plus, he laughs ... a lot!

THE SIXTH MAN is due out April 19. It's a helluva a roller coaster ride. 8)

Just finished P is for Peril in the Grafton series. Somehow I missed O and have to find it. I'm pretty sure I picked it up last summer when I was purchasing the series at the flea market.

I'm 1/2 through my second R.W. White book & I doubt I'll read another. I dont care for Doc Ford as the main character, and his books are slow.

I was thinking of trying Dorsey next, are they any better?

I am about 100 pages from finishing A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES. Think TWILIGHT for grownups/history buffs/wine fans. I thought it would be boring, but it's getting so much press, I decided to tackle it. I'm loving it. Anyone else out there reading it?

Dorsey is an "acquired" taste......but his stories that all feature Serge Storms as the main character (I do mean "character") have become a favorite of mine. He is the only author that I find myself laughing out loud at times while reading. I need to be careful where I read them..... :o

Seriously, give Dorsey a chance and I think you be hooked....... :pirate:

Many of his books start out with a dizzying amount of time changes from somewhere in the past to present to past, but once you get into the characters of Serge and his sidekick, Coleman (who is eternally drunk and/or stoned) you will catch on. Honestly, it took me 3 tries at reading his first novel "Florida Roadkill". I almost gave up on it. Just couldn't follow the story. But, thankfully, I took it on vacation one year and found that the 3rd time was the charm!

Here's the author's web site with his books to date: http://www.timdorsey.com/chronology.html

Let me know what you think, OK?

I loved The Monkey Wrench Gang. I have about a dozen of Ed Abbey's books. I also liked Desert Solitaire and the book written about Ed - " Resist Much Obey Little". I would love to finally see Monkey Wrench made into a movie.
I think I've read them all with the exception of Jonathan Troy. FOund a first edition of TMWG in Virgin, UT on vacation last week. What's your favorite?
Inside cover of my copy..... Note Ed's signature in the lower right.... 8) 8) 8) 8)

Just starting this one, thanks to Dan!!

I'm envious of your signed copy, Marcus.....Ed was a genius!

I have a signed copy of "Where the Red Fern Grows".....it's one of my most treasured things.

It's still alive!!

"Her other upcoming projects include “The Monkey Wrench Gang,” drawn from the original eco-activist novel by Edward Abbey, and “Swerve,” a comedy based on Hardwicke’s original screenplay about society’s love/hate affair with conspicuous consumerism."
