Vince Flynn Transfer of Power. Pretty good, spooky foreshadowing since it was wriiten pre 9/11. Cool main character, a CIA operative.

Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs

Started when I was around seventeen or eighteen. Didn't understand a word of it, and stopped after about thirty pages. Tryin it again about nine years later. Finally caught on how to read it 130 pages into it. Now gonna have to go back and start over. The guy was a mess. I'm determined to finish it. To important to Literature to pass up. Reminds me a lot of Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller.

Rising Tide: The Great Misissippi Flood of 1927 and How it Changed America by John M. Barry. So far, so good. It's supposed to be a great book on the history and industrialization of the New Orleans area and the strategic value it has for the US...past, present, and future....?

Isn't it terrific? I have passed my copy on to at least a dozen different friends; all have loved it.

Just started another JD Robb mystery...Origin in Death.

I loved that book. Reviewed it for the paper when it first came out. Mr. Mojito found it for me. I can't wait to see the film.

That's one of the sweetest books I've ever read. It wasn't easy sometimes, but it's ultimately very sweet.

Did you see the made-for-TV movie?

Several of us attended a book signing today and picked up Dark Light by Randy Wayne White.

It was enjoyable to hear him talk about the book and characters.
