This could turn out to be a parking nightmare, or it could be fun...
Who knows?!

You can take the LIRR to Freeport and there's a bus from the station to the beach. I don't know how long it takes or how much it costs becasue I always drive to the beach.

How can you see JB at a alcohol-free venue??
That has got to be incredibly painful.
We went in 2002 for John Mellencamp and freaked out upon finding that there was no beer available. I just can't imagine.
Do the cops allow the full-bore tailgating there? I have heard that they're difficult.

You can purchase beer in the VIP section. The cops didn't have a problem two years ago with tailgating.

Tailgating is not a problem as long as everything is in a cup.

Sounds like you've never been to Jones Beach. And I think people in the Boston area should be used to losing to NY by now.

The first and last time I went to a show at Jones Beach my license plates got stolen (JB FINS), and no one showed up to tailgate until after 3:00! My wife and I got to the venue at 11:30 and could not believe that we were the first people there.

You're at the beach, there's more to do than hang out in the parking lot and get hammered.

Oh, I've been to that dump and it was a JB show no less. No beer inside, there was only like 10 people in the pahhhkin' lot until 2:00 PM and the place looks like some kind of retarded Evil Knievel jump or sumthin'. It's at the ocean which of course is nice, but the stadium itself is dreadful.
This dude should be there, not Jimmy...
I think the top of this place is like 400 feet above sea level. It's just awful!!!

I've been to a lot of shows at Jones Beach, not just Buffett, and it's a great place to see a concert. I also kind of like the idea that you can't drink once you get inside, less chance of some drunk frat boys puking on you. Sorry not being able to get a beer means so much to so many people, enjoy the broadcast on Radio Margaritaville. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
