Why doesn't Jimmy stop in New Orleans?

It seems like a natural fit. We haven't had a arena tour stop since Dec. '99 (I believe). Sure we had Jazzfest in '02, but once every 3 years, come on. I would think this would be a yearly tour stop, he lived here for crying out loud. Sorry for the rant, just really frustrated.

Why not indeed, why not a thousand places, maybe he throws darts at a map. I would be happy with anywhere within a hundered miles of me...not looking good though and then trying to get tix sheesh nearly impossible. Its tough being a phan of a cult hero and his phanbase just keeps getting bigger and bigger

I don't know if you've been to many shows at the N.O. Arena, but unless they've done some work on it, it's a terrible venue. There are huge acoustic dead zones on either end that make it almost impossible to hear what's going on. I went to see J.B. at the arena on his last stop and left feeling downright p*** off. I couldn't hear any of what he said, and could only sing along because I knew the words. When he did "Louisiana" as an encore, he had to get to the refrain before I could even tell what song it was. JazzFest is a much better venue for him, but it's so hot!!! Tell Mayor Nagin to work on that, would ya?

Wouldn't it be cool if Jimmy and the band played the HOB? Of course, he occassionally does "surprise" shows at Margaritaville. Keep your ear to the ground. If you ever see a Club Trini appearance coming up at the 'Ville, you need to be sure to be there.

That's how we feel in Atlanta. When nobody else was going to see him in the northern, western and new england states. It was Atlanta, Florida, Louisiana, Texas.. ya know the south that got him started and now he seems to just leave us behind.

How about a stop at Pensacola, Mobile, Biloxi, New Orleans,Baton Rouge, or Houston, just one, even Tallahassee would be fine. He has a huge following in these areas, but I guess since he sells out everywhere, it really doesn't matter where he goes. Since this tour was late coming out information wise, it was hard to plan a road trip, usually I go to Houston, now I'm trying to force in Atlanta or Cincy, none easy.

That's what I am saying. He used to cater to the soothern US that gave him his start now he acts like we are second class Parrotheads! And yes, he does sell out everywhere. I bet he could do 2 dates in every city and some, who knows how many and could sell them all out.

the thing about new orleans is that he lived here, and talks about his days in new orleans ALL the time. i dont see why he wouldnt be begging to come home and play louisiana. the only possible thing i can think of is that new orleans doesnt have an ampitheatre, which is the big trend right now.
