Yes! We'll be in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn again this year. It has lots of room in the parking lot to gather folks together to caravan over to the Tweeter Center. The past couple years the people working there have always been nice to us.

We have our annual group coming phrom NW Ohio. We usually stay at the Baymont, but there are no rooms, so we are first on the list if one opens. The usual plan is to party in that lot until 4, then head to Tweeter.

I hear people going to the Holiday Inn lot, we had a lot of trouble there our first year because they sell alcohol, they would not let us drink in the parking lot, so we had to go to the room. Since we moved to the Baymont, we have had no problem.

BTW if anyone cancels a room at the Baymont, please PM me:) Thanks!

Ya Know ... I was going to be staying with my friend from Naperville BUT ... you make a room at the Holiday Inn sound a whole lot more "interesting"!! :P Hmmm ... have to re-think my travel arrangements! 8)

I'll be getting into Chicago on Wednesday night and staying through Sunday, and going to both concerts. In all likelihood, that Saturday show may be my last one ever, so I WILL be in the party mode.

Oh I'm sure!! I was just trying to joke since gumbo gal sounds like a "flirt" ... (this is where one needs to be able to use their tone of voice to be effective) anyhow, I've got a place to stay and cant beat the price (FREE) ... we'll still stop in for some pre-concert action though !! 8) Hell, if we end up needing a place to stay near by we may just have to borrow HI's parking lot and sleep it off in the car (hahah) would've been helpful last year considering we were in my car and I lost a contact bout midway through the second set ... AND I was the ONLY one who could drive a stick!! OK though I can toss 40 cents into a toll basket blindfolded now WOOHOO !! yeah, you get a lot of practice between Tweeter and Naperville

Heard a rumor----if you plan on tailgating their first---you may have to have a room key, to prove you are staying there.

I must admit, I can be a "flirt" at times.... :D :P  I've had to tone it down a little since I became a wife and mom :D and I probably will have to keep the flirting under control in Chicago since my hubby will be with me :D but look out Vegas in October....it'll just be me and the girls!!! :wench:  :D
And if you wanted to keep trying to get in at the HI, it doesn't cost a thing to keep trying, even though yes, it has been booked since the rumors started, but who knows?!? Someone may cancel their reservation. Personally I enjoy going through life seeing the glass as half-full instead of half-empty! If you can't get in, you are more than welcome to come party with us Fri, Sat, etc. the more the merrier.

I am proud to say I don't know how to drive a manual!!!! :P :D  ask my husband about the times he's tried to teach me :P   Actually I probably COULD do it if I were in a pinch and absolutely had to, but anyone riding with me would get a serious case of whiplash   I'm fine once I get going....it's taking off from a dead stop that kills me. And I'm not even gonna talk about throwing any hills into the mix :P
I will admit I'm lazy. I'd rather just put the car in drive and go

Looking for some info. Due to the Fenway Park no tailgating issues I decided to take a road trip and see if you guys can party as hard as us here in New England. Could someone give me the lowdown on the parking lot setup. Are they cool with setting up canopys and grills, fairly tolerant with boat drinks and all the good stuff. I'm flying out and renting a car but I'm planning on bringing some gear to set up with so a head's up would be most appreciated!!!! :pirate:

Sweet! Good to hear you will be in Chicago Jolena!!! :D

Hola Captain Murf! I don't want to discourage you, but from my impression and what I hear of Great Woods, I don't think Chicago will compare. BUT... that does not mean that it will not be a great time and that you will not totally enjoy yourself!!! There's guaranteed to be a good number of BNers there and Chicago itself is just hella cool!!! :D 8)

You can have a grill. As far as canopys go...I think you just have to be creative and make sure to spread yourself out when claiming a parking space. Take up as much space as you can as they direct you into a space. Many times you can just tell the parking attendants that you need extra space for a canopy and they just go ahead and let you have it. They may resist, but you have to be firm. The parking lot is gravel, so it's not as conducive to grills and canopys as grass is, but it works fine.
