Does anyone know what happened to Billy Joel? He, along with Jimmy, is one of my favorite musicians. So does anyone have any news on him? I heard he is in talks of touring with his band again.

On that Rock & Roll Richest list, it said Joel hasn't made a new album since '93

Joel has a musical touring the country now that he produced "Movin' Out."

Last I heard he was "into" producing some sort of classical (as in Mozart-classical) orchestral type record. So was Paul McCartney now that I think about it. (note to self: STOP THINKING!)

I got to see them together a couple of years ago. was Eltons side of the stage about maybe 30 to 50 feet from his piano. Great show.

He actually wrote and recorded an album of contemporary classical... although he got someone else (a classical guy) to perform the music.

Darn right he’s a good musician. He “retired” from making pop music in 1993 with the farewell album “The River of Dreams”. The final track on that album, titled “Famous Last Words” put his announcement that he was departing from the pop world in song. Keep in mind he still performs his pop/rock catalogue live (The Millennium Concert and the Elton John/Billy Joel Tour), he just doesn’t write rock anymore. His hasn’t stopped writing all together, for he now writes classical music (one album is out called “Fantasies and Delusions”, although he doesn’t perform the pieces).
A shame I think, because he was an awesome writer.

you know, i just left the "how old are you" topic. not that it's a bad thing. i saw joel in the early, i mean very early, when i was around some of your ages, and it was great. the unique thing about elton and joel, they still have the same band. if you get the opportunity, do it. you will not be sorry.
