Okay, I got tickets now I need some info...

What Hotels are in the area? What is the parking lot like at Jones Beach? Do you share the lot with the beach goers? Can you walk to the beach from the lot?

Can't wait to spend Labor Day Weekend at Jones Beach!!!

I don't know about prices, but off the top of my head I can think of a Holiday Inn in Rockville Centre, Best Western in Massapequa Park, Sunrise Executive Inn in Lynbrook. They're all about 1/2 hour from Jones Beach, there really isn't anything closer.

The stage of the theater is built in the bay so yes you can walk to the beach from the lot. There's also a pedestrian tunnel under Ocean Parkway so you walk from the bay side to the ocean.

It's a state park so you're not supposed to be allowed to have alcohol there, but as long as you don't act like a fool the police usually won't bother you. And once you get inside the venue there's no alcohol for sale at the concession stands.

You don't need to walk under the road to get the beach. There is actually a small beach that's on an inlet right next the stage that you can use, and it's right next to the parking lot.

Thanks, I will check into the hotels.

Having the beach so close to the venue sounds awesome...

I know people are upset about no GW this year, but I am really excited to try a different venue and setting!!

I just mentioned the tunnel in case he wanted to go to the ocean instead of Zach's Bay. You're at the beach already, you don't have to go far to hit the water.

I got stuck in a crisis-du-jour meeting that ran right through 9AM. Didn't even have time to call anyone and ask them to try for tickets..... :( :(

By the time I escaped the meeting, at 9:50, everything was gone..... :(
