I Just heard that Jimmy's finally coming back to Jones Beach!!!
Rumor has it that he'll be Playing a Labor Day Concert!!!!!!!!
I'll definately be there and I can't wait... and just when I was losing hope

If it happens Mrs. Port and I wiil be there!

We were thinking of trying for tickets, is it a nightmere to get on long Island that weekend? Hows the parking lot? Would it be better to take the ferry from CT?

I seriously doubt I'm going to try to fight my way in there on Labor Day Weekend, much as I like Jones Beach as a venue. What a nightmare..... And what happens when the parking lot is full of beach-goers, as it likely will be by 9 or 10, as it is on every beach on Labor Day Weekend? Then where do the wanna-be tailgaters park when they get turned away? What a freaking nightmare.....

1. yes. just like the Cape that weekend. maybe worse.

2. see my previous post. I don't think there's room in the lot for partiers AND beachgoers.... someone will lose out....

3. yes. I-95 will be a nightmare.

Thanks, so leaving MA at 5:00 am and going to the beach is the best bet eh? sounds tough. Thats weird that the beach and venue use the same lots. Lets hope I get Fenway tickets

I don't know what time the earliest ferry is, but you'll definitely have to make a reservation. and you'll probably have to leave MA before 5 (again, depending on earliest ferry time...).... the ferry ride is 1 1/2 hours.... 1 1/2 hours to New London.... not sure how long the drive up long island is, but betting another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.... if you're going to leave MA at 4-5, it might be easier just to drive around...

I only live 4 miles from Jones Beach and have been to every Buffett show since he's played there. I can't wait & I hope he is really going to play there. The police have been a little tough on the tailgaters there, but if you keep your drinks in cups they usually don't bother you. There are a couple of fun bars just 5 miles from Jones Beach and remember to take Wantagh Pkwy. to Jones Beach, it's a lot less traffic than taking the Meadowbrook Pkwy. We should try to pick a bar for all of us to meet before they show, can't wait for this show!!!!!

why, when he has the opportunity to be only the second entertainer ever to put on a show at one of the most historic parks in all of baseball???

the opportunity for Great Woods will still be there next year, if Jimmy so chooses. The opportunity to play Fenway is a one-time shot. I say "GO FOR IT" and we'll make it a party wherever he plays!

its on the same island but they're both pretty much on opposite ends... so... not really
