CELL PHONE RINGTONE INFO

There seems to be alot of demand for this stuff. Therefore Im raising the price...........you want ringtones ????????? I am charging 2 Buffett tix for each ringtone, lol lol lol

Ok, first off I have the Samsung a-530 phone.

1. Get the usb cable to connect your phone to your PC. About 20 bucks.
2. Youll need drivers, I can send the Samsungs to anyone for free. Youll be able to find the others on the net if you take some time and effort.
3. Youll need to download GAGIN which is the program thatll get the ringers and pictures into your phones.
4. Yahoo Groups is a great place for info on your phone
5. Yahoo or Google search for Jimmy Buffett midi files. I have several I can send quickly to those who want them.
6. The midis can be no longer than 30k. I have music programs that can shorten the ones (most of them) that are too long. Dont forget a song is 4 minutes and ringer is about 45 seconds so you dont need the whole file.
7. Pictures must have their sizez adjusted as well.

I have to run now. If this is important to some of you guys maybe it can be made a sticky and I will be glad to help with questions and files as best I can in the future. Im no computer whiz either but I hope I explained it clearly enough.

For those of you that have SprintPCS, there is a great website out there that tells you how to create your own ringtones from midi files. It gives you links to a program to edit the midi file and then has an upload tool to send the ringtone you created to your phone. www.sprintusers.com I have Barometer soup, Boat Drinks, Brown Eyed Girl, Fins, Margaritaville, One Particular Harbor, School Boy Heart, Southern Cross, The Weather is Here..., and Volcano. When I get some time I will create more. I can send the midi files to anyone who may want them via e-mail (either the full song or the 30 second ringer I created)

Its pretty straight, I would suggest going to howardforums.com and looking up your phone, they will have the best info on the equipment and programs to use to put midi's on your phone,

one note that is wrong in the first post- you do not want your midi's to be longer than 10k, the song will only play for about 20 seconds on most phones before going to voicemail so your really just wasting memory if your song is bigger than 10k. Most phones will play the real songs too, all you have to do is change the name from i.e. margaritaville.mp3 to margaritaville.mid

5:00 Somewhere is on Nextel's site as well. They spelled JB and AJ's names wrong! It's good, but they need more than 2!

I have a verizon / att phone ( motorola) phone.
there is a program called Planet ringtone. It costs about $15. and comes with a program where you can have any cd, or music, you have made into a ringtone at exactly the point you want it.

My phone has ........ on the Day that John Wayne died........with JB singing it. when it goes off. people think it is a Radio.. also made a clip from Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans.... from Costal confessions
the program sends the tone from the computer to your phone. and walks you thru installing it.

You can use the program on all phones that have real tones and some that can't . and make as many tones as u want for 3 phones for one priice......... well worth it.

It seems that it will work for those who don't have win98 for there OS. So for those of you who are able to do this.....rock on!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
I was able to download the Grateful Dead polyphonic from Cingular's website and I'm happy with those. They don't miss a beat. And Jimmy has covered them!!!!!!

I wonder this too, Vinnie. Whenever my phone rings, I usually try and answer it within just a few seconds.. You'd never be able to tell what song it might be, anyway.

My problem is that if I got a JB ringtone, I would never answer the phone because I would enjoy listening to the song so much that I wouldn't want to answer it to stop the song!!
