Rest of the league  , he has wins vs. Reds, Tigers, Devil Rays another words the celler dwellers. vs. Boston, he has never won!

For once, I have positive feelings about the Padres. A youg pitching staff that can learn from a vet like Wells and remember that the Pads have the first pick in June. Jared Weaver is only a year or less from the Majors. So far in second and the hitting has been poor.

Like Dusty said last night, hitting is contagous. Our pitching should be just about perfect in the middle of May. After Prior comes back, WATCH OUT MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL!

I am so impressed with Carlos Z so far this year. We really need Remlinger back and Merker 100%

I loved D-Lee's grand slam, but the way he plays first, if he didn't get another hit all year, he would be a valuable asset

No kidding, I would not care if D. Lee struck out every time this year. Chip Carey and Steve Stone were saying that Lee will win more games with his glove than with his bat this year. That is all I can ask for. Defense wins championships. How many errors do the Cubbies have this year. It can't be many.

I switched on the game and thought I would be catching things in about the 3rd inning-instead in was still top of the 1st inning, and the Cubs were up 8-0! This was fun!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Still the pitching is looking like it is settling in and the hitting is unreal!

In today's Trib it said the Cubs are on pace to break the team's season home run mark by mid-July. If they would keep up their current pace, they would finish with 100+ home runs more than their (somewhere around 265) best home run season ever. :o

Of course I'm wary, but with the offense they've been putting up so far, I could definitely see them breaking some records! :D

I believe the most homeruns hit by a team was done by Seattle in 97 or 98 and I believe it was 267. I thought the game was not aired so I went out to my truck to listen to Ron Santo on the radio and about a half hour later, my sister comes out and says that the game is on the channel that shows the houses that are for sale. So I missed the first eight runs, but watched the last four!

I meant the Cubs team hr total... not of any MLB's team hr total.

Maddux, three starts, 1-W, 2-L, last year 0-4 start and he still won 17. I think we are in good shape.

If there is a hotter hitter in baseball (that isn't also a Cub) than Mo Alou, I sure haven't seen it.
