I bet I'm right about this one, though....
yep, I think you've got that one nailed....
But doesn't that mean the Cardinals are going to win tonight? The Red Sox manager is Terry Francona.
See, I told you I'm not concentrating worth sh*t today....

People have been calling him "Tony" by mistake for years...it's probably because of his last name having the "cona" in it.
Anyhow, Red Sox fans are fun toys. Who needs video games when you can tease a Red Sox fan?

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, see, the Red Sox realize this is always possible, so they won't be overconfident..... the Yankees never imagined, in their wildest nightmares........

Okay, one error.... I made an error..... the Idiots can overcome one error by an idiot fan, right???
Unless the fan is Bill Buckner.
(actually, Bill Buckner has dealt with the whole thing way better than the rest of us.... he and Mookie Wilson have made appearances together, both signing the picture.... )

You know what I think the Yankees' biggest problem is? Joe Torre. Seriously, look at him when he's sitting in the dugout. He has no fire, most of the time he looks like he's taking a nap. If the team takes its cue from the manager and they're just as laid back as he is they were probably thinking "We're the NY f'n Yankees, we're not worried about anything." Until it was too late.

No one really imagined it...... But I will honestly say that the Boston Red Sox will give joy to their fans for the first time in their lives....... That of course does not include fans who are still alive who witnessed their 1918 series win.......

WHy is Bill Buckner not in the Hall Of Fame?
Answer: ONE GROUND BALL.
His numbers were good enough, but he got very few votes.

and if it truly is that one ground ball, what a shame and a black eye for baseball..... he wasn't the only one who made a mistake that day; his was just a little more glaring.....

His only job is to keep the egos in check. That's it. And he's good at it. Their talent should be enough to win, otherwise.
Remember, Torre was a failure as a manager with the Mets and Cardinals. He did OK with the Braves.

WHat I said is a bit of an exaggeration. His numbers were very good. Were they HOF worthy? Maybe. But the number of votes he got was not worthy of the career he had.

the party in heaven is about to start..... my grandfather was at the 1918 World Series..... my other grandfather wasn't; he was in the Navy, having enlisted to fight WWI.

Just like Bartman... it wasn't his fault entirely... stupid Alex Gonzalez!!!
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

It wasn't Bartman's fault at all.
The situation on the field before and after that FOUL BALL were identical. Only difference, the Cubs lost their composure. They had found someone to blame, it was now OK to lose.

Yeah, I know what your saying....... I miss my grandparents, they were the best...... Married 65 years, lived to their early 90's and were just good people...... I wish sometimes I could pick up the phone to talk with them...... They passed away around 5-6 years ago and I still have not removed their phone number from my speed dial......... So for your's, may the Red Sox pull it off...............
