Mr. Cub knows what he is talking about. My grandma's best friend's husband played with Ernie Banks and when her friend and her husband passed away, Ernie came down to the funeral both times. He is a great man. "THe Cubs will soar in 2004!" I guess we should let the Yankees and Red Sox's have their weekend now, since they will not be playing in October.

Latest Rumor out of NY

GM Brian Cashman said there is no truth to the rumor roaring through baseball yesterday that said the Yankees were going to trade Jason Giambi to the A's for Tim Hudson. According to the rumor, the Yankees would pay a lot of the $99.6 million remaining on Giambi's contract that has a blanket no-trade clause.

"I have had no trade discussions with anybody," Cashman said.

Because the back end of the Yankees' rotation is shaky, the A's are unlikely to sign all of their top three starters (Hudson, Barry Zito and Mark Mulder) to long-term deals, and Oakland GM Billy Beane loves Giambi, the rumor gained steam.

for anyone who has actually watched the playoffs the last couple of years you could give the A's the first 2 wins in the series and a 10-0 lead in game 3 and they will somehow find a way to lose 3 straight I don't see them making it this year again.

Adam, I agree. Cubs fans are talking like there will be no problems.....for a team that hasn't won a WS title in 96 years....or even been to a WS in 59 years. April success has broken a lot of hearts.
