Some of the prices on eBay are ridiculous so take the time to look around. There are some good prices on eBay. If it wasn't for eBay I wouldn't have been to as many shows as I have.....and some with some darn good seats.

Without eBay we'd have to pay even more from the brokers (those of us who got shut out again).

Before I found this place, a couple times we had extra tickets I put on Ebay. I always started the bidding below face+ TM charges. Bidding never made it to what I paid for the tickets. I thought then there must be a parrothead conspiracy against scalpers on Ebay

, keeping in mind I was
not scalping, just looking to break even.

You're act is not as funny or entertaining as you think it is. It's annoying and moronic.
There are people who didn't "sleep in" that go shut out on tickets. They tried very hard and they got shafted. Why do you insist on insulting them? You're opinion on this and many other subjects is a waste.
Sorta like you Ann???? Why don't you mind your own buisness and go back to your fake happy world, and come back when reality hits ya.
Lucky to get tickets !!!

I was one of the FEW lucky JB fans to get Alpine tickets the old fashioned way. Wait in line and hope to GOD you make it to the counter before they sell out. I was 9th in line and they sold out ofter me !!! And would you believe the FIRST lady in line who had the opportunity to get all 8 SEATS wanted lawn???????? We offered to buy them from her for $800(they were $70 each) and she turned us down. We had the cash in hand waving it in front of her too!! She was a newbie at the concert scene. Even the ticket lady told her to get the SEATS and resell them. She wouldnt listen !!!!!! At least we have lawn seats. Ebay tickets are unbelievable--3x the face value. NO WAY will I ever buy from those brokers/scalpers. I would sit at home with my Pina Colada and JB on the player before I would buy from the scalpers !!!

But it IS illegal to list them for sale before the venue has them on sale. That's 10am, and some of these auctions were up at 8:30.

Why is that illegal?

It may not be illegle, It's not right. For all the phans who thru the years have bought Jimmy's music, shirts and stuff it's a slap to the phans. scalpers and the such rip off the core of music phans. While making a profit is okay by me, raping the phans is wrong. Thats the way I feel. Well me and most phans. If you don't like that too F%*&ing bad!

My apologies. I'm not trying to start anything. I just have some genuine compassion for those people who tried very hard to get tickets and got shafted.

I know this is an emotional issue for many, but I find it very helpful to look at it from a more analytical perspective. Simply put, there are more individuals who want to go to JB's shows than there are tickets available (at the face value price). The only way to correct this situation is to set higher prices at the primary point of purchase, as has been done this year at many venues. Of course, I suspect many of you would be upset if JB's ticket prices were significantly higher than they are now. While it is nice that his tickets are priced below fair market value, it wrecks havoc on those who are unable to obtain tickets from the primary source.
While I am not sure Gumby has been as diplomatic as he could have been, I do agree with him. I love Ebay! It gives me the chance to obtain tickets at a price that is closer to fair market value when compared to brokers who used fixed pricing in an attempt to gouge fans.

I sure hope you are joking............ what about those of us who were online and on the phone at ten minutes before 10:00, and STILL got shut out?
I joke you not-----I LOVE TICKETMASTER AND EBAY-----
My group woke up at 5 am drove 2 1/2 hours, waited in-line and were shut out of tickets. We had 3 others trying to access ticketmaster.com via highspeed and they too were shut out.
Please don't tell me that the I didn't get tickets "...because of my own will..." because I did everyting possible to get tickets.
I've read your posts in the past and have seen you brag about how "easy" it is to get tickets. Well maybe it is easy in Chicago, especially when they have 2 shows, and there are additional shows in the mid-west going on sale on the same day. But here in the east, we had ONE show (Camden) go on-sale yesterday with no restrictions. So effort had nothing to do with getting tickets. It was pure LUCK (which of course I had none of)!
I don't complain about e-bay or scalpers becuase I feel that they are a neccessary evil. I want tickets and I know that there will be price to pay for them.
We can complain about the costs and the limited supply of tickets all we want, but as long as Jimmy's shows continue to sell out in minutes, Scalpers and e-bay may be the only solution to seeing the show.

I never have any luck with Ticketmaster. That's why I am glad there is an eBay. I can purchase good pavilion seats for half the price most of the broker sites are asking for the same quality seats. Reality is......fortunately, there is eBay! The brokers must really hate eBay and I like eBay even more for that reason alone.

Good point, and I've seen it work. A few years ago, Prince came to Dallas and played the Dallas Convention Center. My wife and I are huge fans of the purple one too (yes, our musical tastes are hopelessly broad). We bought 10th row tickets on Ticketmaster (no kidding), but here was the catch: reserved ticket purchasers had to arrive the day of the show, no earlier than 90 minutes before showtime and retrieve their tickets. In order to retrieve your tickets, you HAD TO show photo ID as well as the credit card you used to purchase the tickets. Then, after being handed your tickets, you were immediately escorted into the venue (where you then stood in a long line to actually clear through security). It was kind of a hassle, but I recall not being able to find any seats (through brokers or online (i.e., eBay)) for a couple of friends of ours that wanted to join us. Tickets were $100 a pop, but the element of the scalper was completely removed.
