well actualy i think that camden is a great place to party. Police are pretty cool dont mess with them and ther really shouldnt mess with you. They usually just drive around in their cars all day, and thy have a couple of undercovers. I always park righ on the river it is a combo blacktop and dirt lot with great views of the city. If my memory serves me from last year RV's are allowed and i think that they are also allowed in the lot under the Ben Franklin Bridge. Tailgaters bring everything under the sun, bars, grills, putting greens, sand pool, you name it. The lawn can be a litle messy at time but since thisconcert is at the berining of the season it shouldn't be too bad. Beer is is expensice. But over all i really enjoy the place and th sound on the lawn has gotten better over the years. Have fun. I know htat i will.

Camden is very strict with what you can (or, more to the point) can't bring into the show. They won't even let you bring in blankets to sit on. I'd stash the beach balls just in case when you bring them in...

I never had a probelm bringing a balnket in (?)... and the lost opened at 11:00 am last year... The line started forming at 10:00, but they made the cars wait in traffic until 11:00 (no big deal though, still plenty of time to party).

And the lot below the Ben Franklin Bridge is always the place to be.

Thanks for the info, we got some tickets on ebay and have never been to Camden. We decided to go on a road trip as the whole Fenway thing is not looking good. The neighbors dont want us to tailgate at all so were going to Camden! :D

Blankets are fine, backpacks are not and have not been since the 2002 show. You'll have to check them at the door. A small purse is OK.

Depending on when you get there, you have to park where they tell you. If you can get near to the river it's nice, especially on a hot day if the wind is coming at you off the water. I think RVs park in a special lot. I know that tour buses park in the main lot (near the bridge) in an area by themselves.

Thanks agian for all the info.....We are in the same boat this year...taking the road trip and all... So let me ask you this... Is it by luck that you get near/under the Ben Franklin Bridge...since it sounds like you have to Park where they tell you to??

To Bad the lot opens so late 11am for the show...we have been used to getting in around 7/8am for the Great Woods shows....Either way it should be a blast...

Cant wait, any additional INFO IS MUCH APPRECIATED.... Feel free to come by our 300gal. Pool for a dip anyone...just 2 rules...

1. No Peeing in the pool...
2. Ladies preferred to Skiny dip...Men.,.,,,SHORTS STAY ON!

Have a great day ~~~/~~~

I'll take you up on the pool thing...

As for the lots, it has changed every year. 2 years ago they were opened before 10, and the first lot opened at the grass lot (not the one under the bridge) so you had no choice but to park in the grass (unless you wanted to wait until the other lot opened).

Last year they opened the main lot first (again, it was a little later then the year before). I have to disagree with everyone who says to get a space near the river. We were the 2nd ones in the lot last year and pulled right up to the river. It was nice in that there was a breeze, but the majority of the crowd came later and it semed to be a lot more wild towards the middle of the lot!

Anyway, you'll have a good time at Camden. Just be prepared for a more laid back tailgate experience then what you are use to at GW (I have been to both)

There is no Camden Riversharks game that night, so the big lot should be open, but I heard that there is construction on the Camden side for the "gondola" that crosses the river. I'll make a run over as we get closer to the date to check it out.

With the blanket thing, I tried to bring one into Pearl Jam last summer, got denied. Maybe they are a bit more lax at Buffett? Sorry about any misinformation, just sucks to have to walk all the way back to the car to bring back the blanket...

Camden is a great place to see Buffett, second only to Great Woods. Park at the end of Market Street near the river. (where the buses park) However to get in that lot you need to be there by 4:00 at the latest. The police are extremely tolerant but be careful when walking from lot to lot with open beer. That is the only time I have ever seen them give anyone a hard time.

Thanks for the heads-up about where we should park....4pm..the show starts at 8pm that would give us all of 3.5hrs to tailgate...We plan on getting there around 10am,....takes time for us to get the 300gal. swimming pool set up along with our Tiki-Bar...you know the drill....We are "EX-Great Woods" tailgaters so we appreciate all the info in advance as we dont want to miss a second of the action...thanks for the HOSPITALITY and feel free to stop by the Pool!!!

you might want to check about what time the lot opens. they might not let you in at 10am.
