We got lucky with Alpine on the 10th, got 8. Was searching those ticket brokers sites today, and they have July 7th at Alpine listed and FOR SALE!!! I know that's wrong, since Jimmy's playing Indianapolis July 6 & 8. Not only do those damn brokers get all the tickets, they list date that are wrong!!

Hey CT, how lucky did you get for Alpine? I'm in need. Are you selling? just wondering since you're pricing them on broker sites......

Excuse my bitterness, but this is a perfect example of the type of gluttony that makes it so extremely diffecult for most of us to get tickets. Most of us struggle each year just to find two tickets and here you are unsatisified with only EIGHT??? Unbelievable! I'm not sure what makes me more sick to my stomach...Ticketmaster or the greedy pople who just can't ever seem to get enough!

Maybe they have friends who want to go too...

Perhaps, but the eight ticket limit allows less ticket distribution allows some to take advantage of the fans who are unable to get any!

There are always going to be fans who don't get any, whether the limit is 4 or 8.
You should learn to work the system, not just get angry about it. I've never NOT gone to a Buffett show I wanted to go to and I've never paid more than face value. It's not that hard really.

I haven't missed a show in many many years, either. But just once, just once, I'd like to be able to have tickets in hand longer than three hours before the show. And by the way, there are rarely face value tickets available for Alpine shows. I've paid face value maybe twice in the last ten years!

I'll tell you what we used to do...
Get 16 people together. Send the bulk of them to various ticket outlets with cell phones. Stand in line and call like crazy.
Have everyone else on computers but, honestly, I don't trust the computer that much.
We've done that for 8 years and never been shut out.

Sorry to get so upset, but this is very frustrating! I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Thanks for the advice.

I understand the frustration...
Ask quietly around here too... there's always tickets being exchanged amongst friends in the background. That's part of what makes this place so great... a bunch of friends helping each other.

Have to jump in here....I know how frustrating it can be as well! Don't know if you heard my 2nd row story, sigh....we were so close!!!! We did get lawn tickets for friends though...it is all about safety in numbers....get people out there...doesn't matter who they are, if it is people you meet on the street that morning...get them in line, you never know what can happen.....sit tight, something will turn up for you..it is only gonna get harder every year

but when the day comes when we all get those GREAT tickets sometime, it is going to be so exciting!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing Im upset about in getting my 8 tickets is the ticketmaster surcharge! What a rip!
I trust computers and over the years have never gotten skunked.(cable modems rule) We had 10 people signing on and dialing. Only one got through on the phone others were all on the computer. 40 tickets total. We always sell them for face and load up our bus.
Ive had friends that also went to Alpine without tickets in the past and never had a problem buying extra lawns from tailgaters around us for none to little over face. Ive seen lots of extras there. There should be NO reason to not have a ticket if you really want one even if you couldnt get one through ticetbastard.
Sorry...Sounding like SirGumby a bit there. LOL

Sorry to upset you so bad, but what started out with ten friends here in my hometown has grown to 24 parrottheads to the concert for the last 4 years. I am the "travel agent" that gets the rooms, tixs, etc. We have a great time, as you do, so please don't get on my sh** so bad. I hate the tix brokers with a passion. See ya in Alpine.

Back in March in another thread, Cheesehead in Paradise posted an apology to everyone. He said that he was very upset that he didn't get tickets and had major problems with the way tickets were distributed. But, he said that he realized he had misdirected his anger about this.

I have no problem with people buying up as many as they can, for as many friends as they can. No matter how big or small your group is, if you're going to have a grand ol time, more power to you!
My only complaint is toward the peeps that buy them just to sell them for profit.

That's just taking advantage of people, and I think that's a crappy way to live your life.
UPDATE!!!

It's been three months since my original disgruntled reply and I am happy to report I have FINALLY obtained two tickets! The ticket exchange here on BN was no help at all to me. I was able to purchase tickets on ebay (finger nails running down chalkboard). Actually, I did get somewhat lucky and only paid $225.00 for two pavilion seats (I was expecting to pay more). One final apology for my misdirected anger earlier! The good news is, now I can actually start looking forward to the show and stop fretting about tickets! See ya at Alpine Valley!!!

No worries Cheesehead. I'm sure everyone is appreciative of your apology and it's very cool that you offered it.
BUT... next year, please let me know how many damn tickets you need and I'll get them for you for cripes sake!!!

I've never had problems getting tickets for Alpine. I've gotten 8 every time I've tried. So next year, I'll hook you up and save your blood pressure!
(or at least we will talk about what you need to do to get the tickets you want!)
