Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye;
Four and twenty blackbirds
All baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Wasn't that a dainty dish
To set before the King?
The King was in his counting-house,
Counting out his money;
The Queen was in the parlor
Eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden
Hanging out the clothes;
When down came a blackbird,
And snipped off her nose!
I guess it's the teacher in me

Hi there, how are ya? It's been a long time.
Seems like we've come a long way.
My, but we learn so slow
and heroes they come and they go
and leave us behind as if we re's pposed to know why.
Why do we give up our hearts to the past?
And why must we grow up so fast?
And all you wishing well fools with your fortunes,
someone should send you a rose
with love from a friend. It's nice to hear from you again.
And the storybook comes to a close.
Gone are the ribbons and bows.
Things to remember, places to go,
pretty maids all in a row.
Eagles - Pretty maids all in a row
and I like the teacher in you....brings back tons of cool memories

When I was 17, I did what people told me
Did what my father said, and let my mother mold me
But that was long ago
Chorus:
I'm in control, never gonna stop
Control, to get what I want
Control, I got to have a lot
Control, now I'm all grown up

When the going starts to get rough
And u feel like you've had enough
Let the music take control of your soul
Take a chance and do what you feel
You're a force, they cannot live without it
You gotta break the chain Yeah
There's a passion inside
An inner strength that drives
Can't nobody take that away from you
It's the greatest life
Set the floor on fire
When you come alive
And we're dancing
And it feels alright
I cant control my desire
And we're dancing
And it feels alright Yeah
And we're dancing
And it feels alright
Cant hold me down
About to reach for the sky
And we're dancing
And it feels alright Yeah

I get up in the evening
and I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help
You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

When I passed you in the doorway
You took me with a glance
I should have took that last bus home
But I asked you for a dance
Now we go steady to the pictures
I always get chocolate stains on my pants
My father he's going crazy
Say's I'm living in a trance
But I'm dancing in the moonlight
It's caught me in its spotlight
It's alright, alright
Dancing in the moonlight
On the long hot summer night
It's three o'clock in the morning
And I'm on the streets again
I disobeyed another warning
I should have been in by ten
Now I won't get out until Sunday
I'll have to say I stayed with friends
But it's a habit worth forming
If it means to justify the end

I'm gonna have a good cry over nothing, but a handful of cigarettes
I'm gonna leave the windows open when I feel like getting dressed
Im gonna think hard about leaving, see if the afternoon can tell
I'm gonna let him lie there sleeping, then I'm gonna love him well
One morning gonna wake up far from this town, where my body lies
But Sunday is nobody's business
Sunday is nobody's business
Tell all of the neighbors
Take back all the favors
And look away, Lord take down your eyes
The icetrays all are empty, there's nothing here to eat at all
I can't even find a pack of matches, I left the oven on all night long
My mother's 'cross town, I'm going to see her, my grandma's there on the hill
She's drinking sherry with all of the angels, saving a little but until
That morning when I wake up far from this town, where my body lies
But Sunday is nobody's business
Sunday is nobody's business
Tell all of the neighbors
Take back all the favors
And look away, Lord take down your eyes
I'm gonna spend it like I got it, take it like I want it, love like no one loves me at all
Cause in the place where I come rom you have to be careful
When everything is certain
When everything is fixed
When everything is fine
I'm gonna buy some flowers at the grocery with my last five dollars again
I don't care if lonely is coming, I've been practicing
Tonight in this window, the moon is gonna rise
If you want to give me something, give me something
But today, don't give me no suprise

On a dark and lonely road in my hometown
Stands a house that long ago should've been torn down
It reeks of love gone sour, suspicion and bad debt
On a weather beaten transom in the house
Walks a friend of mine that I call the old king mouse
He dances in the moonlight and sleeps out on the steps
Do you know where you're going when you've taken your last breath?
Do you know what you get?
Do you know where you're going when they've paid their last regrets?
Do you know what you get?

Are you feelin that you're on the brink
Of spilling some red in the sink
It wasn’t the easiest year
No I don’t want you to go
Are the memories too hard to take
Rape is a word with a face
No I don’t want you to go
You know I don’t want you to go
Friend of mine stay alive
Don’t you leave me here
All alone in the world with a chronic tear
I will always be here, I will always be here
I will always be here for you
We walked the promenade in the rain
With velcro shoes and an ice cream stain
You’re the only one who understands
Remember the Blake said to make sure you wake
And help save your generation

It's rainin' but there ain't a cloud in the sky
Must of been a tear from your eye
Everything'll be okay
Funny, thought I felt a sweet summer breeze
Must of been you sighin' so deep
Don't worry we're gonna find a way
I'm waitin', waitin' on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin' on a sunny day
Without you, I'm workin' with the rain fallin' down
I'm half a party in a one dog town
I need you to chase these blues away
Without you, I'm a drummer girl that can't keep a beat
An ice cream truck on a deserted street
I hope that you're coming to stay
I'm waitin', waitin' on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin' on a sunny day
Hard times, baby well they come to us all
Sure as the tickin' of the clock on the wall
Sure as the turnin' of the night into day
Your smile girl, brings the mornin' light to my eyes
Lifts away the blues when I rise
I hope that you're coming to stay
I'm waitin', waitin' on a sunny day
Gonna chase the clouds away
Waitin' on a sunny day

Sunny day while away the afternoon
Cutting nettles that are hiding petals pink
From the river drink.
Bluebells, wood dells where dwells a squirrel
Who slinks along branched patterns heightens call of coaltit
small
Hover over river.
Diving, writhing, gnattring chiff chaff chattering
Woodpecker staggering hammering
Exaggerating off his find.
Do da do
Sunny day while away the afternoon
Cutting nettles that are hiding petals pink
From the river drink.
Bluebells, wood dells where dwells a squirrel
Who slinks along branched patterns heightens call of coaltit
small
Hover over river.

Sunny day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way
to where the air is sweet.
Can you tell me how to get,
how to get to Sesame Street?

On the blues of yesterdays
Time is being wished away
I close my eyes and think of you
Suddenly your light comes through
Time doesn`t matter anymore
Livin`s like a sweet love song
As promising? the things I do
Really don`t seem to lead to you
Away
Chase the clouds away
Chase the clouds away
Chase the clouds away
If you stumble on the way
I`ll be there to comfort you
To pick you up when you are down
Sever? any clouds away
You believe I`m right for you
You know that my aim is true
No matter what the world will do
The two of us will see it through

Oh it's so funny to be seeing you after so long, girl.
And with the way you look I understand
that you are not impressed.
But I heard you let that little friend of mine
take off your party dress.
I'm not going to get too sentimental
like those other sticky valentines,
'cause I don't know if you are loving some body.
I only know it isn't mine.
Alison, I know this world is killing you.
Oh, Alison, my aim is true.

No more Valentine's Day
No more Christmas cards
I've thrown them all away
No more sequined stars
No birthday wishes
No more surprises
Who needs them anyway
No reason to get excited
Yes I gave you everything
I gave you earth and sky
And everything in between
That walks or crawls or flies
No Easter mornings
It's your cross now
Keep it all for yourself
It's overrated anyhow
But keep my Valentine
I'll keep my bleeding heart
Just let me out of here
Before that sentimental music starts
And your regrets
Fall like empty lines
Like the lies we write on Valentines

If there were no words
No way to speak
I would still hear you
If there were no tears
No way to feel inside
I'd still feel for you
And even if the sun refused to shine
Even if romance ran out of rhyme
You would still have my heart until the end of time
You're all I need, my love, my Valentine
Martina McBride - "Valentine"
