The Cost of Entertainment Today!

Us parrot heads are absolutely no exception to the rule.
The cost of entertainment is going through the roof.
We, my fellow parrot heads are being taken to the
proverbial cleaners, right along with everyone who
pays the price to see their favorite sports team,
performer, movie, play, etc. etc. The price we pay to
see our favorite entertainment has increased by at least
3 times the rate of inflation. Yet we all continue to pay the
price, and I am no exception.

When it comes to the cost of entertainment today, prices
are going to continue to rise. I am also the (not so proud)
owner of two Denver Bronco season tickets, to which the
price increases almost every year. When will I decide to
say “no more.” When the satisfaction I derive does not
equal the money spent.

I do think that Jimmy Buffett has a lot of loyalty to us,
his fans. I also believe that he is a businessperson.
Make no mistake; I love Jimmy and I am a loyal parrot head.
However, this is a business to him. As a businessperson,
he is in business to make money.

Is there a problem with ticketmaster? Yes. Is anything
ever going to change with ticketmaster? No. Is there
corruption involved? Maybe. Nevertheless, the facts
remain the same, brokers are gaining tickets, and people
continue to pay their price and play their games. Hell,
I paid $100 for lawn ticket 5 years ago.

There is only one thing that we can do, and that would
be to stop purchasing the tickets to see our favorite
entertainer and boycott the brokers. As long as there
are folks willing pay the price, prices will continue rise
and ticket availability will remain the same. Please,
unless we are willing to put our butts on the line and
do something about the cost of entertainment as a whole
and how difficult it is to get tickets, let’s please stop whining.

Are you willing to pay the price?

To me it’s still the cheapest and most fun 3-hour vacation
I’ll ever take!
See ya in Denver and Vegas!! :D

Buffet sure knows how to control inventory of tickets. I like Buffet as weekend act but on a Tuesday night I'm staying home unless its two for one, but on a SATURDAY night I would pay triple for a lawn seat about $100.00. On a Thursday if I'm taking Friday off I may shell out $50.00. Right now I need Friday night to prepare for Saturday.

20 years about Gas was about a $1.50 a gallon today about $1.70

a concert ticket was about $15.00 to $20.00, today $45.00 min for seat to about $90.00 for non "golden circle seats" which cost upwards of $150.00

a pair of jeans was about $20.00, now @ Wal-mart wrangers are $15.00 and made in Mexico.

It goes to say that we need gas everyday, Buffett a couple of times a year and a new pair of jeans to get thru the winter.

Whats the differance is these 3 items, gas you just dig and you'll find it, jeans can be made for next to nothing with cheap labor and buffet plays maybe 40 times a year. He controls the supply, Why do think JB plays Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

It Takes til Tuesday to rememember Saturday, come Monday should now become come Tuesday.
Wednesday is needed to get your life in order. Thursday to get ready for Friday when half the office takes off. (Friday see above, now we know why you have wait until 9pm to get a table at a TGIF's on a Friday)
Saturday is what we live for, Sunday to rest and repent and Monday to catch up.

It comes down to my to economic realities,

EVERYONE HAS MONEY FOR WHAT THEY WANT, NOBODY REALY NEEDS ANYTHING MATERIAL.

IF COST LESS THAN $20.00 BUCKS 98% OF US CAN BUY IT IF WE WANT IT, JUST GIVE SOMETHING ELSE UP.
