Really good seats at a decent price ... hmmm --- thats only for about 30 sec. after they go on sale right? hahah -- yeah, we decided to go lawn for this one just to save some coinage --- if you save a couple hundred off your tickets then you might be able to afford a couple extra coronas inside the concert --- $12 drinks ... shouldnt that come with a stock share or something ... or is that just my punishment for not drinkin enough in the lot?? See ya bright and early Wed. morn !!!

HSV, the lawn is pretty nice at HiFi. Don't expect to read Jimmy's lips or anything, but it shouldn't be too hard to find people. Last year we got in when they opened the gates and were dead center.HsvParrothead wrote:Really good seats at a decent price ... hmmm --- thats only for about 30 sec. after they go on sale right? hahah -- yeah, we decided to go lawn for this one just to save some coinage --- if you save a couple hundred off your tickets then you might be able to afford a couple extra coronas inside the concert --- $12 drinks ... shouldnt that come with a stock share or something ... or is that just my punishment for not drinkin enough in the lot?? The seats were only about 10 feet in front of us and many of those people came back to party with us. Only about half the seats are covered, so even if you bought most of what is on eBay, you are not under shelter.

Hotlanta
I just found out this weekend that I will be attending the Atlanta show. After Liquordale I couldn't pass it up and I was able to get tickets.

At least you have some recovery time. Right after the Atlanta show, I'm off to Dallas for the weekend show.Calypso500 wrote:I just found out this weekend that I will be attending the Atlanta show. After Liquordale I couldn't pass it up and I was able to get tickets.

Well, we have an office in Florence. However, I'm afraid if they hired someone right now it might be to replace me while I'm on vacation.HsvParrothead wrote:land_shark3 wrote:Trust me, I'm already hanging on. Tailgating
We'll be in Hotlanta but can't get there until around 2PM as we'll be coming in from Nashville. Any tailgating spots left then?

Re: Tailgating
I didn't get there until after 5pm last year. There will still be plenty of alcohol to be consumed.bigeasyPH wrote:We'll be in Hotlanta but can't get there until around 2PM as we'll be coming in from Nashville. Any tailgating spots left then?

Ahh the days are getting closer. I need some help. I have been to the Hifi Buys before for other shows, but never for Jimmy. We should be rolling in around 1 or so from Columbia,SC. Which is the best place to park there to tailgate? I know we dont want the pavement part. The last time I went we parked where there werent many spots, but a small bridge to walk across that put us right next to one of the entrances. We would like to park in one of the bigger lots. Can anyone help with directions

There are only two lots you can use at HiFi: the front "paved lot" and the back "dirt/gravel lot". There are also a few small "pay lots" just outside the entrance to the "paved lot" but who wants to pay for it? The back lot is definitely my favorite. Just seems to have the best atmosphere and doesn't get quite as hot without the pavement. Not that that was a problem last year thanks to the rain.
The back lot is the bigger of the two and divided into two sections by a creek that comes through the area. The "automobile placement technicicans":P divide it into smaller sections. It basically boils down to the earlier you get there in the AM, the more likely you are to get across the creek into the section closest to the gates into HiFi. If you're in an RV the "technicians" will try to keep you on the far side of the creek rather than crossing over. Whenever I've gotten there early I've tried to either get next to the creek or against the far wall so that you have trees for shade and so that you aren't completely surrounded by other tailgaters. Plus, you can go find a tree instead of walking to the port-a-potties.
I don't remember the back lot ever being completely full and turning people away, but they have tried to enforce the rule of "ticketholders only" coming through the gate. Not that it worked very well, though. Hope this helps!
After being in doubt for a while it looks like I'll be able to make it this year so I'll look forward to seeing/meeting y'all!

I really like the back lot, but in 99' we went at 3:00 and after a long wait got into the furtherest reaches of the back lot, in '00' we went at 2:00 and were shut out of both lots and had to pay to park across from the paved, wasn't bad once it filled up with parrotheads who were surprized as us about being shutout of the free lots, but was hot as "$%7#". What does anyone suggest is an appropriate time to insure a place in the dirt lot?
always look'n for the next adventure
