I have never been to a show at Camden --- and was wondering what the tailgating scene was/is like? I have seen the greatest show at Great Woods -- but have been disappointed at Merriweather and Jones Beach.
Thanks for the info -- see ya'll at the Bald Parrot!

phpirate, Great Woods can not be rivaled, but Camden is a close second. Make sure you park in the lot at the end of Market Street near the river. This is where the buses park. They are constructing a gondola which will span the Delaware river so this could be a problem. I drove by recently and the lot was full of construction vehicles. I was equally disappointed last year at merriweather!
Sweet senorita won't you please come with me

Could not agree with you more about Great Woods...BEST PLACE TO DATE...we do need to make a trip to ALPINE someday soon to see how the Midwestern'ers do it....
Secondly...JONES BEACH...AGAIN...could not agree with you more...lot is dead....the Phans just dont get it...to bad since the backdrop is unreral!!! and I am from Long Island it would make for a quick trip...but half the fun is in the ROAD TRIP!!!!
LOVED the pic of CAMDEN we cant wait thanks to everyone for making a boy from Long Island feel so at home in Camden...ok I stole the line from Jimmy but....

I second everything. Great Picture, Pakring lot looks pretty good (no G.W.). Unfortunately when I went to Camden in 02 I drove through NYC from Boston, big mistake (avoid it like the plague) I got there only about 2 hours before show and it rained poured a half hour before and during the show. That was pretty cool though especially since I sat under the cover, just bought a dry shirt and was good to go... I also went to Jones Beach in 02 great venue sort of lame lot and no alcohol sold inside during show. What time do you start???
We did Camden last year, but the group I was with did not agree with my "Hey lets start at noon" theory.
