Although I'm not knocking your idea, I won't be there... Foxboro is WAY to FAR away from Fenway... I'd rather just s*** it up this year and go to the bars and party...
The bar thing might have to do this year. I might be going to the Sox game Memorial Day Monday at 1:00, and I am going for sure on Thursday June 24 (Minnesota Twins) another 1:00 day time start. I'm going to check the area bars and see what things are like early afternoon. I hear there is a bar in there called Tiki or the Tiki Bar, that place will probably be packed by 11:00 AM. I will let everybody know how things look as it gets closer to the shows.
I go to games all the time... I've never been to the Tiki Bar so I can't say one way or another on how it will be... I can tell you that regardless of the time or place the bars will be packed within an hour of opening... The bars we usually hit are... The Baseball Tavern (personally my favorite, Sox players are known to stop here after games..),Cask, Boston Beer Works (great watermellon ale come summer!) and Copperfields.. Personally I'd choose one of these bars b/c they're only a hop, skip and a jump away from the park.. As far as any other bar in the area I'm not to familiar with them... I can almost guarentee you'll find me at The Baseball Tavern outside on the patio.. See y'all then!
I was at the Cask a couple of weeks ago when they played Cleveland, that's usually where I go. I don't think I've been to the Baseball Tavern I'll check it out Monday.
It's on the opposite side of the field... have fun.... I was teased with Monster seats for Monday's game.. I was at a funeral so I couldn't get back to my friend right away, by the time I got back to her someone already took em.... I said dammit girl, have I not trained you well enough yet? Just get the tickets I'll be there!

Thats funny Sorry you will miss the game. You can always watch it on TV.
Acknowledging that math truly does "sux"...
(Wonder if Scott Kirby got royalties because of the closeness to "This Old House Sucks...")
Assuming there are about 10 bars within walking distance from Fenway...
And about 35,000 people will be attending each day...
And Buffett phans LOVE to party...
That's approximately 3,500 people per bar.
I think you can give up on the "Let's meet at XYZ at 4" strategy.
The big winners will be the pholks who are lugging around a 6 pack.
They'll be the most likely to have access to a drink.
We'll party just like Bubba does,
We'll do the Old Man proud!

Mike you can always take a fellow parrothead with you
WOO HOO......Just got tickets thru my parrothead club! so wheres the party? How about if we pick a bar a little farther away from fenway? If you eat at Dicks you can park for free and its not too far. would like to meet some of you guys.

I know Dicks validates but I never heard of you being able to park for free if you eat there. All the other restraunts in the Prudential Center mall validates and you get like $3 off. To park there for a day will cost between $28-32. If this is true I would suggest that everyone eat at Dicks just to get the free parking. That will be the best deal you get all day.
The last two times we went there it was free validation but now that you mention it there might be a certian time you can come like after 5:00pm. I'll check on it.
I'm sure that any sort of deals that are the norm, or officers looking the other way, or places where there aren't "usually" cops, will be non-existant that weekend. This is going to be a big money maker for the city...in taxes, parking tickets, and other tickets... They have to make up for the DNC loss somewhere...
I agree with the people who have said that the bars right around Fenway will be completely packed before the JB concerts. It's bad enough before a Sox game...let alone with 35,000 JB fans who are without a tailgate party.
If you are looking to meet up with a bunch of people, you may be better off looking for a bar outside of Kenmore Square, then hopping the T back into the park. I know the RI parrohead club is looking into doing something along those lines.
this thread is sad people........I guess we'll all just show up and file in, maybe go out to dinner like we do for other shows, nice evening out in Boston. Boy I'm glad I have Camden tickets too.

What makes it sad? There won't be any tailgating but I'm sure there will be something going on. I am glad I am going to Jones Beach
so where are we all roaming too?? I was just there yesterday, tons of bars. Maybe someone who lives in Boston could pick one for us and we can all sorta stop by between 12 and 3 or something like that?
