sirgumby is coming!!

Seriously, I would LOVE to meet you and see the person behind the very interesting posts (although you HAVE mellowed a bit lately!).
Let the world know either where you'll be drinking or where you'll be sitting in Fenway, and I'll bet there'll be a flock of the "faithful" to your feet...

My group is looking at renting a space at Jillian's for the afternoon. It's right next door to Jillian's and the prices aren't too unreasonable...

As for brew-pubs.. there is Boston Beer Works which is right next door to the park.

One more thing...just a friendly reminder that to my knowledge unless it was recently changed....alcohol sales in bars can't begin until 12pm on Sundays...

I don't think thats right about bars not serving till noon. I could be wrong, but I think I have started drinking before noon on a Sunday. Bloody Marys with breakfast.

I think the cruise is a bad idea. You will only be out there for 3 hours and will spend as much time getting to the dock and back to Fenway as you will on the boat. Do you really want to "tailgate" for only 3 hours?

Not to mention what they will charge for drinks in addition to the admission. How much is the cruise anyway? That link tells you to send payments but it doesn't say how much!

I wasn't all that interested in the cruise myself, just threw out the option if some people were interested. The cruise is $25. Ideally I would like to get into Tequila Rain early as they have the NFL Sunday ticket, but like I said I'm open to anything. If I have to miss the game I'll deal with it :-?

I could be wrong bout the 12pm thing...but I remember more then once heading down for games on Sunday and trying to get a beer at the Cask at 11am and they wouldn't serve us.. Maybe its certain places and maybe those rules have changed.

All I know is that we have reserved spaces at Jillian's at 1pm-5pm so we can enjoy some brews before the game. No hassels :)

fenway tailgate...

Post by TongaTam »

This is only in the 'planning' stages at this point but... those of us in central MA are thinking of throwing a party starting early on Friday (hmmm.. how early we'll see!!). I have a decent size back yard and lots of room... people can come here, set up their 'normal' tailgating stuff and party.. then we charter a bus or two to drive our butts to Fenway. Its about an hour - hour and a half haul from here which means a good amount of 'fun' on the ride. I know there is talk of a school bus and we'll see what happens to that... it'll be a very nominal fee.. I don't know about the rest of you but I'd rather not bar-hop in Boston for a pre-Buffett experience.

Thoughts??!?! Those with tiki bars etc, can set them right up in my backyard - my folks are next door with a good size backyard as well. Just an idea.. oh, and of course, you dont have to be from central MA to join us!

WHEW!!! A huge sigh of relief. :D

I went to the Sox game on Sunday (Monster seats are incredible, btw), and walked over to my 9/12 JB seats after the game - no poles! We're in grandstand sec 13, under cover, about 6-8 rows from the top. This will be our view - not too bad...

so has anybody come up with any party ideas yet? We might have a party out Worcester way and take a bus in, not sure yet. At any rate we should pick a small bar a little away from Fenway to meet just before the show, like 5:00ish. Maybe someone in Boston can pick a bar, little neighborhood one.

If I can stay sober I think I may pick Sirgumby and his crew up from the airport... I'm not gonna fight with Boston traffic later that day so I'm going in early.. Looks like I'm gonna have to get a hotel now... My friend in the AllstonBrighton area is moving at the end of the month... :x  :x and god knows I won't be able to drive after the show...

Lynn - Is there anywhere you're NOT going this year? The west coast dates aren't even out yet!

I'm not going but I've still got reservations at the Buckminster Hotel for Sat and Sun nites - PM me if you're interested, I think it was around $170 per night for a king suite with living room.

Well, I am sure Fenway will be the last of the concerts before the West Coast tour. Then there is the West Coast tour (if/when they ever get posted). And it's only been about one a month (well, 2 in NC, but who's counting?) And none scheduled for August  (That is when I am going on vacation!)
Las Vegas
Raleigh

Columbus
Dallas

WEST COAST TOUR!
I know for a fact that there a some people that have hit more than that this year :o :) 8) :wench: (And I bet when you met me you didn't know I was such a Party Animal )
