As a newcomer to Boston, I cruised past the Jillian's area... saw the "Tiki Bar". I'm scared to think of all of us Parrotheads trying to pile in there.

Good luck.... all the bars are going to be completely mobbed... I'm not even going to attempt the Tiki Bar... Just from previous experiences on Marathon Monday... There will be lines everywhere so get where ever you're going early!!! And I wouldn't suggest bar hopping..

Christina---since its gonna be like Fall---we may have to wire you money to get us a Keg of Guinness for the hotel room. Which remember is only like a quarter mile away. Plenty of time to grab the plastic yard glasses ( 2 or 3 for each person) to drink on the way to the show.....

C'mon, Bostonites... any ideas for a mass gathering?
I would be willing to contribute toward booking a bar or something of that nature.

We need a volunteer in Boston to find a place. Maybe a small bar 3 or 4 blocks from Fenway? I still dont know how they can stop tailgating in private parking lots. Next time someone goes to a game ask a private lot guy if they will allow tailgating. You never know, doesnt hurt to ask.

Getting to Fenway

Is anyone going to the Sunday Fenway show from NYC? I'm trying to find a ride back after the show on Sunday night. If so, email me at
grk26@rcn.com.
Also, for a few "tailgating" suggestions -
Jake Ivory's is on Landsdowne Street and it's a fun dueling piano bar. I'm sure the piano players will get everyone nice and warmed up for the show.
Also, the Cactus Club isn't too far away and they've got great margaritas.
Stay in touch with your insanity,

What about the Buckminster Hotel... do they have any kind of party room available? Maybe a "ballroom" or something? It's pretty much spitting distance from Fenway.

Hello everyone. I finally registered for this site. I am going to Fenway on Sunday and was just looking at where you all were thinking of going. I am from Boston and I agree with what the other locals have posted. The fenway area is loaded with bars, but they are small and will fill up quick.
Also trying to find a reasonably priced hotel is crazy. Anyone have any luck on that end.
I have been living for Sept. 12 since tickets went on sale. Got lucky and got field seats!
What is up with beer sales inside Fenway? Some media said no beer being sold inside the park! How ridiculous is that??
Oh well, I'm glad I found you guys.

Welcome!!! I heard the no beer sales inside Fenway also but I doubt it's true... That's where they'll make all their money... I'm shooting for BBW's but if that doesn't work baseball tavern and if that doesn't work the Cask and if that doesn't work Copperfields and if that doesn't work.... LOL, Then I'll be buying a six pack and will sit in the middle of the road...
