I know this isn't news to everyone because I've seen it mentioned in passing here but this is the latest on the situation from Billboard.com:

Jimmy Buffett, George Strait and Alan Jackson have scheduled a one-off mega concert May 29 at Texas Stadium in Irvine, Texas. "The three of us have talked about doing this for some time," Strait says. "We've had the pleasure of working with each other before and not only do we enjoy each other's music but we have a lot in common. Sharing the same stage will be a great time for us as well as the fans. The only draw back will be choosing which songs to do and which ones we have to leave off."
Tickets for the show are priced from $39.50 to $125 and will go on sale April 3 via Ticketmaster.
All three artists have tour plans for the coming months. Jackson has been on the road since January on a Napa Auto Parts-sponsored outing that plays Oklahoma City, Okla., Thursday (March 25), with Martina McBride in tow as his opening act.
Buffett will hit the road April 22 in Tampa, Fla., with confirmed dates scheduled through the end of August. A two-night stand at Boston's Fenway Park is possible, although residents and businesses in the area have been wary of the plan in public meetings.
Strait has a brief Canadian tour set for July with Dierks Bentley opening, followed by a handful of dates in the northern reaches of the United States. Among the stateside stops is an Aug. 7 appearance at the three-day all-country We Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn., which will also include performances by Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Sawyer Brown, among others.
Buffett and Jackson are nominated for four Academy of Country Music Awards for their duet "It's Five O'clock Somewhere," which is up for song, single, video and vocal event of the year. As previously reported, Jackson leads the field of nominees with eight mentions.
