Well said O&B....ya got to be in the state of mind for that song.oysters & beer wrote:I've got to stick up for "Creola". I LOVE Floridays. It is in my top five for Buffett albums. Any song on this album is good, again, in my opinion.
For the ones out there that do not like Creola, try this....
On a HOT...and I do mean HOT Summers day this year, take an afternoon off from work, fix yourself your favorite libation, throw on your swimsuit, put your folding chair (with beach towel) out in the sun and start soaking up rays.
After an hour or so, put on "Creola". It's the story of Jimmy's young lifestyle and you will get a fever for the "HOT" food and "HOT" lifestyle on the bayous of America. It's just a really sensitive, passionate song about the Cajun lifestyle. Just try it.
And I also agree Floridays is one of my favorite albums!

Come on guys Creola, the Speedo Man loves this tune. My favorite part is the steel drum solo, I just love listening to that in my Speedo and pretending to play the drums on my big belly and watching all that blubber jiggle every where. CREOLA FOR ME.
The Speedo Man is 43 years old, 100 ibs overweight, suffers from male pattern baldness, old Bobby boy here cannot get a date if his life depended on it, and the Prince Of Bluberness still lives with his parents.
Okay, after this quote, I may have to add you to the intermission section of the show from Hell!Speedo Bob wrote:I just love listening to that in my Speedo and pretending to play the drums on my big belly and watching all that blubber jiggle every where. CREOLA FOR ME.

I like Madamoseille Volez Vous Danser, but some of the ones I dislike are:
Elvis Imitators
Domino College
Fool Button
I Used To Have Money One Time
Barracuda
Mental Floss
Treetop Flyer
Hokey Pokey
You Call It Joggin'
Spending Money
You'll Never Work In Dis Bid-ness Again (but I like the version on Feeding Frenzy).

"Don't Bug me" absolutely blows.
"Math sux" would have been better as an intrumental or maybe another song topic because musically it's pretty good.
I was playing it at work and had to turn it down because I was ashamed of it.
I think Atered Boy had potential but maybe it's Jimmy's tone of voice in that one, I don't know.
It would also make a kickass instrumental.
Personally I love "Livin' it up".
It sounds great cranked up and the message is great.

VERY cool. I actually have a pick that says "Coral Reefer Band" Not sure who was playing it. I found it on the ground after a concert in Atlanta. I also have one of those older style that Jimmy used to use that just says Jimmy Buffett that I found the same time. Now you can get them for a dime a dozen BUT he actually used this one.Fool Button wrote: That's my pick alright...I caught it in direct flight from JB at the outdoor Vegas show at the Flamingo in January. He played "Come Monday" with it, then did the intro to "Fins" and put the pick on top of his bald head and used it like a little fin, then tossed it to me!
I'm still surprised to this day that I actually caught it.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.

Can you meet me in Margaritaville? Start out with the pleasure, end up with a thrill. Can we go down to the setting of the sun? Party together 'till the night is done........
